DEFENDING champions Sykes A and Aegis retained their titles in the 2nd Inter-BPO Football Festival at the San Roque football pitch last Sunday.
Sykes A won the Men’s division title again after beating newcomer Stream, 1-0,
On the other hand, Aegis also was victorious in a similar fashion as it bagged the Women’s category crown via a 1-0 rout over Convergys, in a rematch of last year’s championship game.
Ren Colina scored the winning goal for Sykes, while Chinee Lim struck the lone goal for Aegis.
Stream finished at second place, while Teletech B was third in the Men’s category.
Convergys was at third place in the women’s division.
Colina of Sykes and Nenette Espiritu of Aegis were named Most Valuable Players in the Men’s and Women’s divisions, while Ace Mangohid of Sykes A and Kristine Bas of Aegis were named the best goalkeepers of the one-day tournament.
Dexter Arrojado of Teletech B, who scored a total of eight goals, and Lim, with two, were the top scorers of the festival.
According to the organizers, the inter-BPO tournament will be a regular event and each company will take turns hosting the quarterly event.
