With the Philippine Football Federation (PFF)-Smart U22 Men’s Championship Regional Qualifying 2015 set to kick off tentatively this November 18 at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City, the host and defending champion Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA) has returned to their regular camp at the San Julio Realty football field in San Carlos City.
NOFA head coach John Carmona yesterday disclosed that the Negrense side has resumed training from November 2 to 6 with a few pocket games against several teams in San Carlos City.
The former national men’s team midfielder Carmona said they have to ensure building a strong NOFA side against other Visayan teams.
He added they will have more tune-up games in Bacolod when they start camp at Panaad on November 9.
The NOFA squad is led by Carmona’s champion side from Central Philippines State University in San Carlos City that includes Jerald Paparon, Diomar Caruscay, Jasper Layagon, Francis Jada Polvodrido, Timothy Bolo, Elton de Arce, Arjun Barangan, Arvin Bayani, Jordan Junco, Archie Pamiliar, Kharl de Jesus and Floric Bayonas.
Backstopping the NOFA pool are University of St. La Salle standouts Usman Ilimona, Aoki Harunori, Jo Warren Bedia, Joshua Dutosme, Regie Cisneros, Nessi Ramos, Kent Guevarra, Angelo Bayohan, Allian Alfonso, Van Llyod Baguioro and keeper Carlos Pinote alongside University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos’ Randee John Temana, Paolo Sanchez and Marivic Gancita, and St. Benilde’s Sidney Magbanua.
Helping Carmona in the coaching chores are Virgilio Subrado and Jeruel Gines.
Meanwhile, also seeing action in the regional qualifying are teams from Iloilo FA, Cebu FA, Negros Oriental FA, Capiz FA, Leyte FA, Bohol FA, Calbayog, and Northern Samar.
