    2. I am wondering: how they want to grab more fans if they are too close minded? They're certainly forgetting the millions of OFWs that could support the team, and not only them, but foreigners, like me for example (I am from Brazil). They are going to the wrong side, for an organization who's wishing to see the sport growing in the country.

    1. Yes, it was, because they announced it without mention the local blocking. So, it's their fault, somehow.

    2. Yes, I do. I am following the team since 2013 and I must say that it's a pleasure to support them. Because the Southeast Asian football isn't only Thailand or Indonesia, but there also has space for other teams, like Azkals for example.

    3. Thanks for the support. I have seen a lot of South and Central Americans supporting the Azkals on the internet, including Chileans, Mexicans and Argentinians. I think it has something to do with the combination of European players on the team as well as the common HIspanic, cultural and religious heritage that the Philippines shares with that region.

  11. yeah, philippine football is hesitant to explore the different angle on how to improve this sport,i think their approach is more on copying other league style, i suggest that, they should make the sport more attractive and make some steps in creating another filipino league, that promotes local grassroots, i had seen our local boys played in ufl,but their body language sends negative message, its maybe they cant get the slot, favoritism is the culprit and hiding the true capacity of a filipino coach, short cut, they heavily dependent on foreigners because of their training in their homeland, what i mean we should often use our locals to promote and improve, and they are not fit to play, rusty and sloppy, if we can improve local grassroots, then it can draw more attention to the public, look at the basketball, they have the support but every time they play, they lose but still they can earn local support, its because they have the charm of the mass, its because of their dynamic approach on how to entice filipino psyche.all football enthusiast in the philippines should unite, instead of schism, let them see that football in the philippines is on the rise.

    1. They should really partner with a ad agency to market the game. They are relying to much on the fact that if the senior team does well, popularity will follow. It does necessarily follow. Football should be connected to the common Filipino.

When the team is trying to market the team to encourage people to watch the upcoming game they just repeatedly babble like a parrot telling people to watch. There is not much content. Look at Gilas, their news has content. There is a story. Same goes for PBA. UFL content is hard to get.

At first maybe they can stream UFL games in YouTube. They have to acknowledge not all fans are willing to go live and even hardcore fans will not be able to watch all games live. Also statistics are important for fans. Who was subbed? when? who made a goal? While even just the scoreline is hard to know. Division 2 of UFL is almost non existent. They should not neglect this even just on their own website. (both facebook, twitter and stand-alone sites). Fans need to be updated (and something to look back to).

They can interview players and coaches of the national team present and former regarding their stints in the past. How football is connected in their lives. Also maybe they can look back to their archives if they have regarding pass games especially that massacre of Japan led by Alcantara or cooperate with foreign FAs regarding these kind of info. Invitation to watch friendly can be inserted after these.

Maybe they can take advantage the tendency of pinoys being regionalistic which basketball can't seem to exploit. Many public schools have athletic tracks where you can mantain football fields in between it.

The Marketing of football leaves much to be desired. You don't necessarily need huge budget for this. There is social media.

If someone from the team is reading these please. Consider this for Philippine football.

Ano negosyo? Football academy. Mag provide PFF ng coaching clinic. Then sa football academy puede mamili ng coach provided by the PFF... mga ex players ng Airforce, Army. Nabigyan pa ng trabaho mga yan. Academy can send reps in schools inviting kids to join up.

    3. About UFL coaches being reliant on foreigners... dapat gayahin nila ang PBA, may All-Filipino Cup!

    5. Shut up huwag mo itulad sa pBA ito.

    6. Meron namang nationwide PFF-Smart U22 Amateur Club championships kaya lang once a year lang

      Delete
    7. Totoo naman talaga majority of Fil-Ams and Fil-halfs dominate PBA

All KANO conference and import conference with restriction of 6 foot 9 only.

  13. pag marami nang players nandyan sa Azkals at homegrown sila then the masses will surely support the team.

    1. That is right. Just like it used to be when only the homegrowns played. Laging tambak. That has been the case for decades. No TV, coverage, no sponsorship, and no fans.
