Emerging Forces Rise as Superpowers Collide in FA League Cup Semi-finals

Tuesday, November 4, FA League Cup Semis (Rizal Memorial Football Stadium):
4:45pm – Global v Loyola Meralco Sparks [Airs Nov 5, 8pm, on Aksyon TV]
8:15pm – Ceres-La Salle v Pachanga Diliman [LIVE on Aksyon TV]
The Football Alliance League Cup semi-final round is all set up for fireworks, as the remaining four clubs seek out the United Football League’s first trophy on offer in the 2014-15 season. Jumpstaring the evening will be the renewal of a fiery rivalry between last year’s League champions, Global, and the reigning UFL Cup winners, Loyola Meralco Sparks. Capping off the football spectaple is the duel between trophy-hungry emerging forces, Pachanga Diliman, finalists in the last UFL Cup, and Ceres-La Salle, Bacolod’s powerhouse club fresh from a season ruling the Second Division.
Both highly anticipated matches are set to take place on November 4, at the legendary Rizal Memorial Football Stadium, and will be aired nationwide on Aksyon TV. Aired LIVE on Tuesday night, will be Pachanga vs Ceres at 8pm, while Global and Loyola’s match will air the evening after (Wednesday, November 5), at the same time.
A new force is growing from the South, threatening to tip the balance in the United Football League. Ceres-La Salle, the only team that has won all seven outings in the FA League Cup, has reinforced heavily with national team players, and is eager to take glory home to Bacolod City.
“We’re very very excited,” said Ceres manager Ali Go. “We’ve been waiting for this. We’re training so hard to win a championship. We will not stop until we are champions.”
Opposite the Visayan powerhouse, with Quezon City roots, Pachanga Diliman has proven a true mainstay in the UFL’s highest level. Constantly trying to break into the 1st Division’s upper echleons, the challenge of the rising superpower brings an opportunity to etch their club’s name in Philippine club football’s early history.
“This is a good opportunity for Pachanga Diliman to be a famous club if we win the game. I will try to work really hard with the players,” sad new Pachanga head coach Yuki Matsuda. “The players have great heart, so we will be ready.”
Global just about clinched last season’s League title by coming from behind to break the hearts of Loyola Meralco Sparks in a feisty affair just a few months ago. On the evening, Misagh Bahadoran came off the bench to spark the turnaround. With the wound still fresh, the Younghusband brothers and the rest of Loyola, under 2010 national team coach, Simon McMenemy, will be itching to exact revenge in the semi-finals of the FA League Cup. But on fire striker Mark Hartmann is just as motivated to pile on the misery on the recent UFL Cup champions. The heavyweights of the UFL collide in the first semi-final match on November 4, 4:45pm, at Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
“We expect to win every game, of course we’re confident. We’re looking forward to it. It’s exciting now, it’s the business end of the season,” said Global’s Scottish mentor Leigh Manson.
“They know how to win. They’ve had a lot of success, so it’s going to be down to us to stop them. We’re keen and ready to go, we’re looking forward to it, “said new Loyola coach Simon McMenemy, who was the man at the helm in the Philippines’ historic Suzuki Cup run in 2010, a campaign which sparked the football explosion in the country.

Thomas Dooley only had a one year managerial job in 2002-2003 at FC Saarbrücken- a fourth tier German League System and only a one time assistant coach of Jurgen Klinsmann in a match with US against Mexico on August 10, 2011. This shows that Dooley maybe a World Cup player and a team captain in his team back in the old days but has no vast experience in Managerial job in football and Palami's lack of gem choice.

    7. let's say the club releases the players. will it guarantee that they will get the same intensity in training and play time compared to their club's standing? the answer is a "no".
the current situation is actually good for the national team. instead of just 11-15 players getting enough play time, you'll get four more players exerting the same amount of effort. not on the same pitch at least but you get my point.
by the way the finals is tomorrow so....

    2. "nang-agaw" o "nagnakaw", walang ebidensya o kaso? aba! dapat sa the buzz ito at hindi sa sports balita. walang kinalaman ang organization sa tsismis at haka haka.

  5. this is just stupid. when we were sticking to our lineup, everyone was bitc#ing why we don't give this and that a chance to prove himself on the pitch. now that the opportunity is there for him to move up, everyone is bitc#ing again. this time is because the "favorites" are not there. wtfff
for goodness' sake! only 11 players are allowed on the field and there can be only 3-6 substitutes (depending on the prematch agreement).
ali go and ceres are selfish? how about you? you are not even spending a single centavo on their club.
ceres is spending way way WAY more compred to other clubs because they are based in bacolod. remember what happened to queen city?
it's easy for you guys to talk s#it because you are just at home watching the game. you are not even that crazy enough about the national team to break something if the team loses.
