PNG set for Philippines challenge

An eighteen member squad from the PNG senior men's soccer team will travel on Friday 10th October to Philippines to play a friendly match with Philippines National Team.

The game will be played in Manila on Sunday 12th October, with the team taking on nine new players to see the best possible players to make the team for the Pacific Games.

The team is participating in this friendly to gain experience and get expose playing in different environment.


Assistant coach Milan Miric said it will be a perfect stepping stone for the players to prove themselves on this level of high intensity and provide a solid platform to evaluate them to get mentally and tactically stronger.


"The team will be in Philippines for five days to give chances to the boys who are not part of the Singapore trip to experience being part of the team to gel better and to achieve our final goal," said Miric. 


"It will be a good exposer for the boys in playing in East Asia while also looking forward to play more friendly in October and December before the National Soccer League kicks off."


The members of the senior men's are: Albert Mesulam, John Bai, Koriak Upaiga, Jeremy Yasasa, Valentine Nelson, Agi Moses, Daniel Joe, Brendan Joe, Eliud Fugre, Michael Foster, David Muta, Niel Hans, Nigel Dabinyaba, Tommy Semmy, Joshua Talau, Nathaniel Lepani, Gary Moka and Patrick Aisa.
