Bacolod-based Ceres-La Salle FC is considered as one of the country’s best teams after defending its 2013 PFF-Smart Club Championship last month, while closing its campaign in the United Football League (UFL) Cup last year as quarterfinalist.
Despite the heartbreaking 2-1 loss to the Archers in last year’s UFL Cup quarterfinals, the Ceres FC remained a strong squad after defeating Global FC twice in the home-and-away format Club Championship finals.
In this UFL Season, Ceres will try to make another history when they join the league’s second tier alongside Manila Jeepney.
However, a Ceres team official has yet to disclose its final roster for the tournament as they are still finalizing it.
With the entry of Ceres FC in the second division, the competition will most likely become incredibly fierce to earn passage into the top spot and become a contender for promotion to the first tier.
Twelve teams will compete in the double round robin format in the second division./
