NO GIRLS WILL be seeing action in this year's 10th edition of the National Interclub Football Cup tournament slated from April 24 to May 2 in various football fields in Cebu City.
Tournament organizer Cebu Amateur Football Club (CAFC) decided to cancel the Girls 17 and 14 Under divisions after no other girls team signed up for the event except for Sacred School-Jesuit.
Glenn Quisido, CAFC president, said he met with girls team coaches but they said they cannot come up with a full lineup much less complete the 25 player-lineup required per team participant.
Earlier, Quisido said they would at least need four teams each for competitions to be held in the girls divisions.
After yesterday's deadline of entries, Quisido said that 38 teams with two coming from outside Cebu have confirmed their participation to the tournament considered as one of the biggest outside of Manila. Visiting teams are Ormoc and Xavier Manila. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
