  1. This friendly is showing us that our homegrown talents are NOT good enough to compete. Or, possibly Maro should NOT be the coach. It is apparent that he cannot pick the right players for his team. Some people even commented that bribery gets you in the team.

  2. Always people say here that are homegrowns are "not good enough" because of the lopsided loss everytime we face big Asian teams but only few realizes that we suffer from this kind of situation due to the fact that our homegrowns are bareely exposed international games. Only when a tournament like this they will get certain experience from abroad. If we can send them 3-4 times a year for a training camp outside our country then it would not be like this. Critics should think beyond why our homegrowns are like this.

    1. Oh come on! Don't try to bullshit anyone here by trying to sugar coat the situation!

Yes, all our national youth teams are under exposed internationally. Yes, our national youth teams don't always have the best players. However, it still doesn't take away the fact that most of our homegrown players aren't good enough. Technically, tactically and even physically! For the most part the fundamentals aren't there. Say what you want but it's fact!!!!

What exacerbates the situation are people like Fatlami putting in unrealistic timelines for achievements. They come out saying the aim is to qualify for this tournament by this date or they aim to win a certain medal at a certain tournament by this time. It's added pressure and the players can't really develop with things like that hanging over their head!

    3. That's another problem right there! When you call a spade a spade, there are people like you that come and say that nanlalait kami or we're making them like 2nd class citizens or anything else along those lines. It's a load of bullshit and you need to shut the fuck up!!!

There's a clear difference between calling things as they are and bashing. What I said above was the former!! You need to learn that!!! This is also why there's no progress with that mentality of yours!! What do you want people to do?? Blow smoke up yours and the player's asses and say that they're world class?!?!

I've also seen a lot of domestic youth football. It really isn't great! There is the odd player who you would consider ahead of their age group but that'snfor local standards. Internationally, they're way behind which is in evidence through our national youth teams.

    6. Coming from a bunch of dumb fucks who can't even differentiate between bashing and calling things how they are and consider the latter also as bashing.... ya... the only people thay need to get the fuck out are people like you.

To the contrary it's people like you that makes the Philippines a laughing stock. All you know how to do is praise and receive praise. Then there's no standards.

If you still want to go around being deluded thinking that everything is just fine and that the players the Philippines are of good standard, that's totally up to you.

However if and when you get told otherwise, don't be surprised or start acting like you're of higher standing.

    7. That's you , you're the dumbest fuck here. Criticizing a friendly game is for people who pretend to be analyst when in fact they are just pretenders. If you criticize, make sure you consider the following (so you have the facts to back up your complain)- Is it a friendly game or official game? Did you get statistical data on chances created (mostly on zone 14) by two teams and compare them ? Shots on target, shots on goal, ball possession%, complete passes made and incomplete, corner attempts, tackles, GK saves, offsides, fouls, cards , substitutions and injuries. If you haven't seen every game or doesn't have these in your hands then you are just presuming on your own hatred feelings toward the Youth National team of our country.

    8. Guys, Do not go to the sewer to make your point. Both were right, since this is a friendly, training exercise for our young players. For them this is very important, a source of livelihood, a future job. On the other hand, you do not fly 25 people to Bahrain and spent all that money for a sight seeing tour. I don't care since I'm not paying for it. But if I am, somebody should be made accountable.i.e the coach and trainers, since the record of the U23 team for the last 5 games is 0-5 losses. What the hell are they doing, totally clueless.

  3. For me, the key for developing good players is coaching. Young players need good coaching to develop, and BAD coaching will make them even worst. Even in the USA, most successful college teams were coached by imported European or Latin American coaches. It will require a good heritage of soccer for a coach to be a good one. If I am looking for somebody to blame, I will blame the coach Maro.

  4. Coach Marlon Maro was a defender with the PI team, not exactly a world class team during that time. Defenders are known to be very poor in ball handling, dribbling and long passing. They are there to be strong and aggressive. Talking to some Iberian coaches, they said that in soccer, ball handling, the touch and the vision is what makes an exceptional soccer player. I'm assuming that these are NOT Maro's areas of expertise, and will NOT be able to teach properly to our youth.

    1. That explains why Dooley is sucky as Azkals coach. Which is why even with the best strikers at his disposal we cannot get a goal.

  5. kasalanan to ng Fil-foreigners, ni Palami & ni Dooley. lol. wala lang may masisi lang. yan yung real gauge ng homegrown talent natin vs the rest. pero pang long term & winning mentality naman daw to, siguro at least another 50 years of 4-0, hwag tayong atat at short sighted sabi nga ng iba na mas magaling pa kila Palami, Ceres owner etc.

    1. so para sayo ano long term solution mo? nagmamagaling ka lng Unknown? Hindi mo ba alam si palami ang over all chairman ng Youth Teams at sa Grassroots naman ang owner ng Ceres. Ang galing mo nga pala 50 years yung utak matsing mo..

  7. I have no problem with hiring imported European or Latin American coaches to train our youth. This is the only way we could catch up with the more established soccer-playing countries, used their long heritage and knowledge of the game and how it is to be played. Also they will have the "eye" for soccer talent and will pick the right youth for the right position and work with them properly to be better.
