Ceres players called-up for Azkals friendly versus Malaysia

Ten players from Ceres-Negros FC were officially called up for national team duties for the friendly match against Malaysia this month. The friendly match set for March 22  will serve as a tune-up before the Azkals take on Nepal for the third round of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifying the following week.
The ten players called up by the Philippine Football Federation are:
  • Jeffrey Christiaens
  • Carli de Murga
  • Kevin Ingreso
  • Roland Müller
  • Junior Muñoz
  • Manny Ott
  • OJ Porteria
  • Iain Ramsay
  • Martin Steuble
  • Luke Woodland
They will be joined by different local players like Misagh Bahadoran and the Younghusband brothers and overseas-based players’s such as Mike Ott, Javier Patiño, Neil Etheridge, and Daisuke Sato.
Ceres, who is in the middle of the AFC Cup group stages, will contribute the most players in the fold including Carli De Murga. The Ceres co-captain who’s already had three starts for the club this year returns to the Azkals after a long layoff since his injury in 2014. The Azkals will have matches at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on March 22 against Malaysia with the qualifier on March 28 versus Nepal.
