FORMER First Lady Amelita ‘Ming’ Ramos said that her daughter Cristine ‘Cristy’ Ramos would not withdraw her sexual harassment complaint against Azkals Angel Guirado and Lexton Moy despite the apology issued by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) and the team’s manager Dan Palami.
Ramos said she felt very disappointed and disgusted upon learning the incident, “I also felt so disgusted too as mother of Cristy, and my husband (former President Fidel V. Ramos) was also disappointed,” she told The Manila Times.
Ramos is also known within the sports community as the long-time president of the Philippine Badminton Association.
“Although I’m not in the venue when the incident happened, we told Cristy to pursue her complaint no matter what because this ugly incident may also happen to others if she doesn’t defend herself. You know Cristy, she’s a fighter too,” she added.
According to Cristy, an executive officer of the Federation Internationale De Football Association (FIFA), she was the match commissioner of the Philippines-Malaysia friendly match on Wednesday at the Rizal Memorial Football Field when the incident happened. She said one Azkal disrespectfully asked for her brassiere size while another faced her half-naked during the conduct of inspection.
Cristy formally filed her complaint to Asian Football Confederation Disciplinary Committee Chairman Lim Kia Tong and to the FIFA.
Palami had issued a public apology in behalf of the Azkals while the PFF ethics committee headed by lawyer Eric Ingles is making a parallel investigation to determine sanctions.
Palami said that the incident could be traced to pure misunderstanding. He reasoned out that Guirado was doing his usual pre-game exercise routine and Moy was discussing something when Ramos entered the dugout.

if the situation is reversed, say, a male commissioner entered a malditas' dressing room while they are dressing up... who do you think will complain?
ReplyDeletethe male commissioner
DeleteHow dare she entered a MALE changing room without asking permission from the coach and manager, at least to escort her. It's because she's a commissioner? This woman is very disrespectful. She just went in the room without using her brain or at least her common sense. I wonder this country never progress.
ReplyDeletecorrect....and I don't understand why they make a big deal just because they made fun what bra size it would be.....and if Angel appeared in underwear...my god, it's a locker room and not a VIP bar.....probably Ramos needs some publicity and to get into the news again....
DeleteI don't think you guys are getting Ramos' point. She knocked and waited before entering, fully expecting the team has settled down.
ReplyDeleteIt was disrespectful for them to mention her bra size and appear to her half naked.
If I was in her place, I would also report this to the PFF, but I wouldn't make a public hysteria out of it. That's the part she got wrong.
Please read the full content of the complaint letter of Ms. Ramos. It is not as if she barged in the dressing room of the Philippine Team.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all the representatives of the PH Team and Malaysian Team were briefed and well informed on the procedure in checking the teams kits and identification cards and the appointed time for inspection. This is SOP set by AFC and FIFA.
Likewise, Ms. Ramos was not alone, she was with the appointed 4th official and Liason officer. Upon their arrival (on announced appointed time) Ms. Ramos knocked on the door to signal their arrival. A PH team official opened the door and said they would be ready in 5 minutes. They waited and after 5 minutes Ms. Ramos and the 2 other officials carried out their administrative duties.
In an interview with News 5 Ms. Ramos asserted that this was her 3rd assignment as Match Com for the Azkals. If this is true then the players must already be familiar with the procedure and the expected good conduct and behavior of the team and players.

You probably don’t understand why it’s such a big deal --------------- you too probably lack the knowledge of correct social behavior and the virtue of fineness of manner and expression.
A true gentleman always respects a lady and is always in control of himself, body and mind. The National team players serve as role model to our youth--------what message are they sending the youth with this kind
Ya, hut you also need to understand its a locker room filled with all sorts of personalities and they were "high" on banter. Who knows what they've been talking/joking about prior to Ramos' entry into the room. Therefore, in the heat of the moment, they did something that would be considered out of line.
DeleteThat would be applicable to Moy with his "its a B cup" joke. For Guirado? Alright, he was in his fucking briefs... again its a men's locker room! It's not like he was flashing Ramos his dick or anything like that!
There's nothing wrong with her making a formal complaint, but for her to take it straight to the media and make it look like some major tragedy is just idiotic to say the least!
YEAH.... read it word for word??.. Ramos enter the room and everyone in the room are all men except her. Then the boys made "men's" jokes and evryone laughed including her male assistants except her. Now Filipino football fans and supporters are well positive to this coming AFC challenge cup supporting the National team except her. Ramos should watch Bubble Gang at least so she won't be a "kill-joy" person. Second, she should stop pulling her Mom's dress and stand on her own feet. Third, she should be supporting her own country's National team. She was a POC president and yet she put her personal feelings to media just to get sympathy rather than encouraging the Filipinos to support the National team. Now this is a big joke... Did the Philippines excelled in sports when she was the POC president? She did not made any impact in sports not until her accusation. Unfortunately its a negative impact for her.
