Azkals team manager Dan Palami has issued an official statement on the sexual harassment complaint filed by AFC Commissioner Cristy Ramos. In his statement, Palami apologizes for the incident. But I still find certain things in Palami’s statement that are quite disturbing.
1. Dan Palami and PFF promise to do parallel investigations on the incident. Dan Palami and PFF said the same thing on the Amanda Coling incident. Nearly a year after, their findings have yet to be released to the public. To this day, both Dan Palami and PFF have yet to tell the public what really happened between Amanda Coling and the four Azkals players. Will the harassment incident suffer the same fate ?
2. Dan Palami does not seem to know how to differentiate boisterous bantering from sexual harassment. There is a huge difference between harmless noisy bantering and sexual harassment. There is no way that an individual of sound mind can mistake sexual harassment for plain rowdy behavior.
3. It puzzles me no end as to why it is Dan Palami who is apologizing to Cristy Ramos. Shouldn’t it be the two players who must apologize to the AFC Commissioner ?
4. The official statement makes it appear that the incident is a mere misunderstanding between the people involved. For me, the incident is about the core values that we Filipinos cherish. Respect for others, integrity in one’s action and the innate duty to do what is right at a particular instance are the Filipino values that seem to be missing among the whole members of the Azkals team. Instead of putting a stop to the insanity and great disrespect happening right in front of their eyes, the whole team chose to laugh instead.
It is high time that Dan Palami allows his players to be responsible for their actions. It is time for Palami to allow his players to suffer the consequences of their bad behavior. I hope that AFC Commisioner Cristy remains firm in her decision to teach these players a lesson on respect and what is truly expected of Filipino athletes.

We Filipinos should be disturb about corrupt officials and politicians who's killing our country for a long time. I'm totally disturbed that Dan Palami who's trying everything to get straight and eliminate corruption, at least in sport, is now under attack. For a young and amature writer like Dimzon, I think you don't know what kind of world you're living like the Philippines. A country of poverty because of corruptions. The person you're trying to defend belong to a heirarchy of politicians who did nothing for the philippines to progress but instead punishing its own people to become more impoverish in sports.

ReplyDeleteyup, Mr. Dimzon is KSP( kulang sa Pansin)... why Cristy is still an AFC commisioner. She doesnt deserve to be. wala nama syang nagawa or naka paimprove sa Football nung nasa PFF pa sya how much more sa AFC... hindi namin na feel yung presence ni Ms. Ramos-Jalasco...
ReplyDeleteS.O.P. naman ng isang Female na kung pupunta sya sa Male Dressing room, hingi muna sya ng courstesy if pwede ba na ba syang pumasok sa loob... common sense naman cguro Male Room yan, bakit pumasok pa sya, sana hinihintay ni Ms. Ramos na naka Bihis na ba lahat before sya nag-enter.. in bisaya pa (nganong ning-ENTER) da mao na??? or pinasuyo yung kasama nni Ms. Ramos if Okay na ba pumasok sa Male Dressing room... wala talaga gusto lang magpapansin... pati c Dimzon, KSP...

ReplyDeleteLook who's preaching core values here. Mr. Dimzon(I hope you read this) you don't have the very "core values that we Filipinos cherish" either. Wake up!!!Laughing at YOUR national athletes' precarious condition speaks much about yourself. And what a good way to bring your country down eh!
ReplyDeleteThings that I Find: Sa mga sumusunod;
ReplyDelete1. Wala lang - pang recall lang about the past
2. Walang bilib sa mga namumuno - basta may masabi lang
3. Poot at ingit sa players - di ba halata ?
4. Respito ? - core value ? marami sa atin yan., kung di mo man nakikita baka ayaw mo lang tingnan
Wag na nating gatungan pa ang issue., i respect your opinion but make it sure na hindi ito maging dahilan para lumaki pa ang isang issue...
" The issue cannot be solve by another issue.,"
We, are far from our country but we are proud to be Filipino..GO AZKALS ....we are proud of you....
If you are aware of CORE VALUE., its better na tulungan mo na lang yong mga "BATANG HAMOG " dahal yon ang klarong harassment...na dapat ang pag tuonan regardless of what kind of harassment if you are CORE VALUE oriented.... U...N.. loob - Request lang naman ......
ReplyDeleteWhy is this post here in this blog? I'd ignore this Dimzon person if I were you. Hindi naman objective yang taong yan.
