THE Cebu Football Association (CFA) will have its elections on March 31 at the Sarrosa International Hotel.
CFA will have new leader after sitting president Richard Montayre decided not to run this time as he will concentrate on being the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) head of grassroots development.
Each club or school is expected to send two representatives for the election and must submit the nomination form on or before March 20.
A week before that, CFA will Leyte, Iloilo, Negros Occidental FA (Nofa) and Negros Oriental (Norfa) in the home-and-away series of the Visayas leg of the Suzuki Under 23 Cup, which now has an P11 million funding from the sponsor.
Cebu will visit Leyte on March 18, while Negros Occidental will take on Negros Oriental in Siliman. On March 25, Iloilo will host Nofa, while Norfa hosts Cebu. On March 31, Cebu will host Iloilo.
Cebu will be represented by the winner in this Sunday’s game between University of San Jose-Recoletos and the University of Southern Philippines.
The top three teams in the Visayas eliminations will face the top three teams from Luzon and the top four teams from the Mindanao eliminations in the national finals.
For the national finals, the teams will be divided into two groups and the top two teams will advance to the semis. The finals will also be a home-and-away affair.
