The Philippine Boys Under-15 National Team return to compete in the AFF U16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia from 14-22 September 2019.
The Philippines are grouped with Brunei Darussalam, China PR, Northern Mariana Islands, and hosts Indonesia in Group G. The top teams from the eleven (11) groups, along with the four best second placed teams will qualify for the final round to be held next year.
This will be the second international tournament for the team having participated in the AFF U15 Championship 2019 last July-August 2019 in Chonburi, Thailand.
Former national team player Roxy Dorlas remains the head coach. He is assisted by coaches Christian Salanguit, Reggie Miraflores, Elizer Fabroada, and Ralph Nino Datoy. PFF Head of Youth Development Reiji Hirata is the team’s technical consultant while PFF Grassroots Officer David Javellana is the team manager.
The team conducted their tournament preparations at PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
“We wish the Philippines Under-15 Team all the best in their AFC U16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers campaign,” said PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes. “This tournament serves as an opportunity for the team to play against some of the best youth teams in Asia.”
