Philippines came from behind to defeat Brunei Darussalam 3-2 to end their qualifying campaign on a high.
It was the Young Azkals' second win of the Qualifiers, having defeated Northern Mariana Islands (NMI) 7-0, as they finished in third place with six points. Brunei finished fourth, having beaten NMI for their only triumph of the campaign.
Both teams were aiming for a winning finish to their respective campaigns and defender Muhd Wafiq Danish gave Brunei Darussalam a dream start when he opened the scoring in the 15th minute.
Philippines, however, continued to press for the equaliser and finally drew level in the 55th minute with defender David Nicolo Pahud slotting home.
Three minutes later, Philippines were in the lead with forward Umi Martin Abelarde finding the back of the net.
Brunei Darussalam surged forward in search of the equaliser and were rewarded for their efforts with midfielder Syaherrul Affendy drawing them level in the 73rd minute.
Philippines, however, would have the final say with forward Uriel Dalapo scoring the winner in the 84th minute.
