Filipino footballer Alvaro Silva has agreed to join Daejeon Citizen after completing his negotiation on Friday, Korean media have claimed.
The K-League Challenge club were in search for a new defender, and they saw Silva as the best candidate.
Following his spells in East Europe with Khazar and Petrolul Ploiesti, Silva is ready to play his football next term at the Daejeon World Cup Stadium where he is set to be joined by Flamengo attacker Rafinha.
Silva, born in Spain, played for Malaga from 2006 to 2009. In early 2014, Silva started work on getting his Filipino passport as his paternal grandmother was a Filipina so he would be eligible to play for thePhilippines national team. The defender made his international debut in a 3-0 won against Nepal last October.
