Manila, AUGUST 13 (Sugod.com) – Filipino international and former Rocket City United defender Jason Sabio has confirmed on Twitter that he had signed a contract to play for Kaya next season.
Sabio, 25, played his first international match as a 70th minute subsitute for Anton del Rosario when the Philippines won 2-0 against Mongolia at the Panaad Stadium.
As the start of next season draw closer, Kaya had recently revealed big name signings including new head coach Juan Cutillas, a former head coach of the Philippines national football team and Jason Sabio.
The UFL Cup which opens on October is one of the biggest football tournament in the country participated by clubs whose players are either former and current national team members with excellent foreign players.
Kaya finished fourth in the LBC United Football League first division last season.

Not only did Sabio join Kaya but Guirado has apparently joined Global as well! Don't really care much about Sabio joining Kaya but Guirado joining Global?!? FFS!!! Disappointing and even irritating!! Lack of ambition on his part as he's clearly more than good enough to be playing in a decent league somewhere else in Asia and with better financial benefits. He even said so himself that he wants to continue to improve but that's clearly not going to happen by playing in the Philippines!
ReplyDeleteGuirado's performances are available on video for any foreign coach to assess. Add the fact he barely speaks English and the conclusion has obviously been 'no thanks'.
ReplyDeleteRight...... he barely speaks English and Filipino so it's gonna so convenient for him in the Philippines...... NOT!!
ReplyDeleteIf the rumors about teams from several countries from Asia being interested in Guirado are true but not enough to actually want to sign him, then he should at least stay in Spain. Beats the hell out of playing in the lowly ufl!
At the same time, you make seem like coaches from clubs across Asia already have access and have assessed Guirado. That's bull on its own. Again, if the all the interest were true, then at the very least he would have there would have been the possibility for trials and not just assessments based on supposed easy access videos of him in action.
At the very least, he could have tried to play for a club in Indonesia. Very disappointing!!
kayo ba nagpapakain kay guirado? hahaha
ReplyDeleteYeah, indeed very disappointing with Angel. In the UFL he can't improve (like he said he wants to)...a set back for sure. Hm, in UFL he is a kind of star player in another league he would be a rookie, a nobody....so guess he prefers to be a star player even the performance suffers....
ReplyDeleteWho knows guys, maybe he got an offer he couldnt refuse from Mr. Palami. I wasnt surprised that it was Palamis club who signed Guirado. Everyone nowadays would play in the UFL if the financial outcome outweighs the quality of the league. This league is no challenge for him, and i just cant understand why he decided to play in the UFL. Language problems shouldnt be that big of an issue. In Thailand and other SEA countries, they have alot of footballers from other countries, and language isnt a issue. And Palami keeps on adding players to his team. I cant blame him though, he got the bucks. Haha
ReplyDeleteI like to see Angel play in UFL and the rest of the NT players who doesnt have a club yet. I dont care about that "Irritating, Disappointing Lack of ambition on his part" theory. Been waiting to follow this league specially now that its going to be televised. Its about time we start talking about our domestice league. If you dont like him playing in the UFL, who's forcing you to watch him? nobody right?
ReplyDeleteGo watch youre EPL, Im watching my UFL.
Hopefully the Younghusbands will follow Guirados example.
ReplyDeleteQuestion is if the league is ready to handle the economical demands when foreign based players come home to play. They wont be cheap to sign. I doubt a player like Guirado or even Burkey or Sabio is happy with 50k a month.
ReplyDelete"I dont care about that "Irritating, Disappointing Lack of ambition on his part" theory."
ReplyDeleteLOL!!! Theory?!?! What theory!?!? It's an opinion not a fucking theory! And if you knew any better and are a proper national team fan/follower, you would be disappointed!!
Again, as Guirado himself has stated, he wants to continue to play in a competitive league where he could also try to improve. None of that is gonna happen by playing in the ufl!
You got the Younghusbands who would rather be fucking around in the local showbiz scene instead of going back to playing professionally. There's Sabio, who had the opportunity a few years ago to play somewhere in Germany but refused. Instead of trying to pursue that type of level of football, he's also content in playing in the Philippines. Now there's Guirado as well. Says the right things you would expect from a serious footballer, but does the opposite and agrees to play in the ufl!
If you don't think that's irritating and disappointing then I don't know. There's definitely something wrong with you to say the very least!
"If you dont like him playing in the UFL, who's forcing you to watch him? nobody right?
Go watch youre EPL, Im watching my UFL."
For the record, I don't really giver a crap about the ufl. The only reason I'm disappointed with his decision to play in the ufl is because I believe he's way better than that and he's wasting himself. And if I had to choose my favorite national team player, it would be him, so all the more its disappointing. So ya, you can continue with your ufl and I will continue watching foreign football leagues thank you!
Noted. But you need to get yourself check, anger management maybe. We are here to support our local domestic league, it may not be the best but we can say its ours and Angel will be one of "OUR" UFL players. hahahaha, that pissed you off did it?
ReplyDeleteTake it positively. With the signing of some Azkals to some UFL teams, these will surely make the league stronger and will surely develop our local players. They are helping improve the quality of football in country. They may not be very beneficial on their part but it will be very beneficial for the many. Another advantage would be, they can be easily called up when there are international games. So what's to fret about?
ReplyDeleteGlobal FC and some UFL clubs are might be thinking of the future of competing against some SEA football clubs
ReplyDeleteIf angel wants to play in the UFL, then let it be. By joining the local football league, I hope he could bring the UFL to the next level. Viva Angel! To those who are disappointed, bring your case to to the Ombudsman. Ha..ha..ha.. Go UFL.. GO Global...
ReplyDeleteOf course it's his dicision (Angel) to play in the UFL and we have to respect it. But like a previous poster said he is wasting his talent in the UFL as he is much better than most of the other players.....maybe he can increase level in the UFL...but who knows. As for the NT it won't be an improvement (lack of tough competition in the UFL). A while ago I read an interview with James Younghusband and he mentioned that everything was to strict at Chelsea FC and ot no chance due the fact the owner bought to much stars and the youth had no chance. So why they didn't went to other clubs in England even 2nd division? Of course some family problems played a role....but if you want to be really a pro player you have to sacrifice a lot.
ReplyDeleteWe have been dreaming for premier football league for some time now, this could be the start of it. I hope UFL will grow to be a full professional league and not just a semi-pro league. We should thank these Azkals( Guirado, SAbio, Burkey) because they are helping us realize this dream.
