IT WILL be another exciting football event on Sept. 12-13 when the 1st Doc Eric 7-aside Football Festival organized by the City of Talisay headed by Mayor Eric Saratan, in cooperation with Executive Village Football Club headed by Rafael ‘Junie’ Lizares, reels off at the Carlos Hilado Memorial College field in Talisay City.
Competition will be staged in the U16 boys and girls as well as open categories, according to tournament commissioner Warren Concepcion.
Competition will be in 13-under boys and girls, 16-under boys and girls, and open categories.
Seeing action are teams representing Negros Oriental, Dumaguete City, Kabankalan City, Himamaylan City, Pontevedra, La Carlota City, Bago City, University of St. La Salle, West Negros University, Handumanan FC, Bacolod City National High School, Domingo Lacson National High School, University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, Carlos Hilado Memorial State College-Talisay, Minuluan-Talisay FC, Executive Village FC, Don Bosco Technical Institute, San Carlos City, Doña Juliana FC, Hervias National High School, Rizal Elementary School, LCC Gardenville, St. Benilde School, and Cadiz City.
Also seeing action in the two-day festival is the Team Philippines U16 squad which is set to compete in the Oct. 3-13 Asian Football Championship U16 Group E Qualifiers to be staged at the Panaad pitch in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
The tournament kicks off with traditional opening ceremonies scheduled at 8 a.m. on opening day, Sept. 12.
