Mendiola 1991 FC opened the floodgates over returning Philippine Air Force FC as they spoiled the Airmen’s return to local top-flight football 7-0 in the Rizal Memorial Stadium
Mendiola concluded the Philippines Football League 2024 Season’s opening day with a goal fest. They took off against PFL returning club Philippine Air Force FC who last played in the league in 2019.
Amir Aninglan opened the scoring early or Mendiola in the first half. He converts a lob pass with a header in the 10th minute.
Mohebizadeh Seyedsajad netted his first goal of the match by converting a corner kick with a header in the 43rd minute. He then scored the first goal of the second half with a quick flick in the 65th minute that went past the Air Force goalkeeper.
Hajimahdi Hamed quickly scored Mendiola’s 4th goal in the 69th minute. He converted Mendiola’s counter-attack dribbling over the Air Force defender that went through the Airmen’s goalkeeper.
Hiromasa Ishikawa scored Mendiola’s 5th goal with another corner converted into a header. The Japanese forward headed the ball inside the opposing team’s penalty box in the 82nd minute.
Seyedsajad concludes his hat trick with a strike into the far post in the 82nd minute which was quickly followed by Mendiola’s 7th goal courtesy of a DJohn Pusing strike in the 83rd minute.
