Laguna leaves Marikina in the dust , moves to fourth

By Kevin Estrada

BIÑAN --  Even playing as the away team on their own stable, Stallion Laguna run riot and moved to fourth in the PFL table with a 4-1 rout of JPV Marikina on Wednesday night.

A second half blitz was instrumental for Ernest Nierras' herd to overtake the designated home side in the table by two points with their fourth win of the season.

By ending their two-match losing run, Laguna also ended Marikina's two-match unbeaten run and avenged their loss in their home opener almost four months ago, thanks to their early six-minute stretch at the restart after a goalless first half.

Ko Kyung-Joon put away the rebounding header away from Jhun Tripulca in the 56th minute, then Abou Sy doubled their lead six minutes later with a left-footed effort.

Kennedy Uzoka pulled one back in the 79th minute when a Laguna clearance hit him in the leg into the net.

But Fitch Arboleda quickly restored their two-goal cushion and get all three points two minutes later, after latching on a Yannick Tuason cross into the six-yard box.

Abou turned provider this time for the final count, with Nate Alquiros converting his pass with a curling effort three minutes from time for their finishing touches.
