The Ceres-La Salle Football Club will be tapping the services of Azkals campaigner, Filipino-German goalkeeper Roland Mueller to strengthen its lineup in the UFL League.
Ceres club administrator Nicolas Golez said they are still in the process of finalizing the details of Mueller's inclusion to the team and the status of present keepers Michael Casas and Eduard Sacapano.
Information of Mueller's joining the Busmen was posted yesterday by the Ultras Ceres, the fan group of the team, in its facebook account.
“IT'S CONFIRMED!!!Another Azkal Player will be an additional to this squad. Fil-German Roland Mueller is coming next month to play for the team in the second round of the UFL Season.” was posted in the Ultras Ceres social media account.
The 28-year-old Mueller plays for Étoile Carouge FC, a Swiss football team based in Carouge, and currently on loan from Servette FC and the Philippine national team.
Born in Cologne, Germany, Mueller started playing football in his hometown club, Koln and later went on to play for Duisburg in 2.Bundesliga.
He joined the Azkals in 2011 and wore the Philippine colors in the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup.
Mueller's entry into the Ceres-La Salle team was announced on the heels of Filipino-Spanish Juani Guirado's departure from the team.
Guirado announced his retirement Saturday after the Busmen routed Pasargad FC, 16-0, in the UFL League.
The team is scheduled to today at 4 p.m. against Forza and against the JP Voltes FC on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Complex.
Ceres presently occupied the third spot in the team standings of the League with Global at No. 1 and JP JP Voltes at No. 2.*NAB
