THE Seagull Football Club (FC) collides with the Ateneo de Davao University when the Davao FA Women's Open Tournament 200 kicks off at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Tionko Football grounds.
Davao Football Association (DFA) secretary-general Erwin Protacio Friday said in an e-mail that the main match set at 4 p.m. will pit the Philippine Women's College (PWC) against the Save Our Souls (SOS) Children's Village.
"It will be a double round-robin league where the team with the highest points wins the championship," Protacio said.
The University of the Philippines (UP) in Mindanao is also entered in the meet that aims to promote women in sports and provide a venue for competition for lady booters to improve their skills.
Protacio, meanwhile, added that Columbia will try to stretch its lead when it battles Seagull in the resumption of the Acer Under-23 Football League Saturday.
Both teams are featured in the 3:30 p.m. game. Columbia led the team standing with three wins, one draw and no zero loss while 0-2-2 Seagull has yet to score a win in the double round robin event.
The 8 a.m. curtain raiser is a clash between current second placer 3-0-1 Medvil and cellar dweller 0-1-3 Kilusang Magkaibigan Multi-purpose Cooperative (KMMPC).
