MANILA -- Global Cebu will try to put aside the crisis that hounded them ahead of their ASEAN Zone semifinal with S.League's Home United tomorrow.
Coming off the heels of the shock departure of Toshiaki Imai last week, newly-installed interim manager Marjo Allado dismisses any sort of pressure today as they will try to sustain their momentum from the group stage by not changing anything in the system the Japanese tactician had implemented.
"Coach Imai will be missed but the mentality is just to keep on winning games," the long-time gaffer of UST Men's team said.
On the eve of their home tie tomorrow at 7:30PM at Rizal Memorial, Allado acknowledges the tough match-up, especially both of the protagonists came to the knockout stage as winners of their respective groups and its respective results will not matter.
"It's not an easy game for us at home. We do not care about the results of Home Utd in S.League and AFC Cup," Allado added.
With his health improving, Misagh Bahadoran is still doubtful to start for tomorrow but he is willing to come off the bench if his mentor will allow, depending on the recommendations of their medical staff.
"The team is winning all the games without me, so if the coach wants me to play, I'll play," the skipper commented.

I willing to go on a limb to say that this is a power struggle between Toshiaki Imai and Palami. I am assuming the Imai wants more control and decision making responsibility than what Palami is willing to give him.
ReplyDeleteI think it was because the coach had issues with the players. Didn't two players tell him to **** off in one challenge cup match? That says a lot about his standing in the team imo.

Deleteit's politics within the club that ruined it. the players wouldn't disrespect their coach if they knew he was the one running things in the club. the coach wanted to be the manager. why can't they operate like zidane and perez in madrid? palami is just too hands on with too little experience. that fluffy dude needs to get a coaching license and be on the bench if he really has the balls.
