STALLION FC bucked the absence of its national team standouts, walloping Green Archers United, 4-1, in the United Football League on Thursday night at the Emperador Stadium.
Belinga Blanchard fired a brace, while Fitch Arboleda and Junior Gaye chipped in a goal for the defending champion Stallions, who missed Azkals Ruben Doctora and Simone Rota to national duty.
The Stallions thus kept a firm hold of fourth spot and sustained their fine form despite kissing their championship-retention bid hopes goodbye a few games back.
"They were very relaxed and we controlled the game on both ends," Stallions coach Ernie Nierras said.
"The guys are starting to know each other better."
The Green Archers stayed in fifth place despite the loss.
