CEBU City will host one of the legs of the year-long Philippine Futsal Cup Winners Cup on Aug. 27 at the Metrosports court.
The Cebu leg is one of eight elimination legs all over the country with the champions facing off in the national finals on Nov. 26 in Manila, and the winner will represent the country in an international tournament in Belgium.
For the Cebu leg, the organizers are expecting 16 teams—eight each for the men’s and women’s division. The teams will be divided into two groups, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the crossover semifinals.
Aside from advancing to the national finals, the champion will bring home P4,000, while the losing finalist gets P2,000. The third placer will take home P1,000.
Players from the United Football League, National Collegiate Athletic Association and Universities Athletic Association of the Philippine are barred from playing in the tournament.
