THE Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) bagged four titles while the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) and Columbia shared the limelight with triumphs of their own in the Pahalipay Football Festival at the Tionko Football Grounds over the weekend.
Not to be outdone, the A.L. Navarro High School and D' Davao Survivors (DDS) also bagged crowns in the soccer tournament highlighting the yuletide season.
Ateneo Blue ruled the six years old and under event over Abba's Orchard and Ateneo White, which occupied the next two spots, respectively.
Ateneo Blue also topped the eight and under division at the expense of DFA Black Knights and Matina Central Elementary School (MCES).
In 12-under, Ateneo 1 bested Sakya FC and Ateneo 2 for the crown while Ateneo Blue lorded over SOS Children's Village and Catalunan Grande for the elementary girls title.
The A.L. Navarro National High School (ALNHS) emerged champion in 10-under while Ateneo Blue and DFA Black Knights placed second and third, respectively.
The Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) stunned Medvil for the men's first division title. The latter took the runner-up honors while WT-FM of the University of Mindanao (UM) finished third.
Columbia and DDS also emerged champions in their respective classes of the event organized by the Davao Football Association (DFA) in coordination with the CWTS class of the University of the Philippines (UP) Mindanao.
Columbia governed the men's second division while All Reds was second and Lupon A Football Club finished third.
DDS annexed the women's open category over Joint Forces and United teams.
DFA general secretary Erwin Protacio said the Football Davao Free Quarterly News was launched and distributed to the club teams.
DFA webpage administrator Mark Mangune donated football shoes to elementary school children and to the players of the First Football for Good Championship-bound Barangay 22-C team. (Marianne Saberon-Abalayan)
