AUCKLAND, New Zealand (UFNews) - In an interview with Mr. Richard Pacana, UsapangFootball understands that six Air Force Riders players and three assistant coaches failed to make the Taiwan trip.
"They were not given travel authority.", he told us through Facebook.
UF understands that Emelio "Chieffy" Caligdong, Ian Araneta, Yanti Bersales and Raymark Palmes were among those who were left behind. Coach Edwin Cabalida, the head coach of the Air Force Riders, was among the three coaches who had to stay as well.
Pacana added that there is no reason to fear as the squad still has quality players. Such as Filipino-Icelandic professional player Ray Jonsson, who has been playing in Iceland's top league for over twelve years and is now with the squad.
"He's the same size as Chieffy, but he's quicker.", Pacana says of Jonsson.
The arrivals of Rob Gier and Jason de Jong are also expected on the 6th of October.
Meanwhile, when asked about Phil Younghusband's reported ankle injury Mr. Pacana says that he is "doing better now".

I dont understand why they were not given were not given travel authority? The tournament been know for many months and Air Force coach Cabalida is also assistant NT coach.
ReplyDeleteAre they really only 14 players going to Taiwan ? and two of them Gier and De Jong are arriving on 6 th ? So only 12 players available for today`s match against Taiwan Olympic NT ?
seems YES.. we will get in few minuTes d result of the game!!!!. vs U21 OLYMIPICS Taiwan...
ReplyDeletepity that a player like Mark Drinkutz( who hasa nunpdated apssport and he can play striker were not invited .. hopefully in FEW MONTHs..
also others are in pipeline..
The key for phil football will be .. if players like Staephan Schröck and especially Jerry Lucena can get Phil passports!
Jerry has so much experience, maybe not so wildish/emotional as STEPHAN, .. sure he would be good also to help Phil NT management after his career as player.
Phil NT needs emotional but also wise players.
Players like Manuel Ott and Marc Drinkuth can play also strikers..
but maybe better to include WILLIAM Guerridon..
from Türkemspor Itzehoe.. still a half pro player, who could also play some years ago in Bundesliga.
Nice statistic of him in his league:
5 GAMES .. 6 GOALS !
RESULT PHIL NT vs TAIWAN U21 :

Philippine Airforce players and coaching staff were not given travel authority because once again the PFF failed to inform the national team management on certain information and procedures to enable all the airforce players and coaching staff to travel and compryr in Taiwan. By the time the national team management learned of the new guidelines it was to late.
ReplyDeleteIt is a big shame on the PFF because the only thing they had to do was to attend to the travel requirements as the national team manager covers ALL the expenses of the national team including but not limited to the pre-preparation and training, allowances of players and officials, airfare, food and accomodations, and this time even the national kit. Yet whatever success the national team may achieve the pff are the first to credit themselves-------------even they gave little or no support at all. SHAME ON YOU MR. MARTINEZ!!!!! YOU SHOULD STEP DOWN AND HEED THE ADVISE OF YOUR BOARD.
