Ronald Patulin and Elmer Bedia the coaches of Team Philippines share the importance of the Homeless World Cup to them and their players
They spoke of the excitement of arriving in Rio and the importance of their visit: 'For Team Phillipines this means more than football, this is our opportunity to voice the issue of homelessness which is ignored in the Philippines.' said Ronald.
'The majority of the Philippines team live in shanty accommodation often living with their families in cramped conditions.' he added.
Elmer, who was an ex-professional footballer in Australia and works as a team consultant, helps with training and advice for the players. He is confident of the impact the Homeless World Cup has on his players.
'Taking part in this event is the focus by which we can change lives through football.' he said.
'Many of our players have improved their lives already and will take up scholarships when they return home.'
Good luck Philippines.
