AFC Futsal Club - Pasargad 0-4 Tainan CIty

Shah Alam: Chinese Taipei side Tainan City FC wrapped up their AFC Futsal Club Championship 2013 Qualifiers with a 4-0 win over Pasargad FC of the Philippines in the last match of the Group A.

In the match played at the Panasonic Sports Complex on Saturday, both the sides entered into the field knowing that the match was an academic contest with Chonburi Bluewave and Shenzhen Nanling securing their places in the knockout stages after finishing first and second respectively.

The match was marked by tight defence wayward finishing as goals were hard to come by until Tainan forward player Liu Chi Chao broke the deadlock scoring an important goal in the 8th minute after cleverly receiving a freekick from Lo Chih An at the centre.

Chang Han continued his scoring spree by finding the net in the 23rd minute as Tainan doubled their lead.

“I have been stressing on our purpose of the tournament; we came here to learn and gain experiences so walking away with points are bonus for us,” Tainan coach Lo Chih Tsung told www.the-afc.com.

“We are encouraged to do better in future and you will see a much improved Chinese Taipei representative next year. An addition of a couple of experienced professional is what we need.

“There are lots of supports for our futsal back home so hopefully we will develop as a team in the future,” he added.

AFC Futsal Club : Pasargad FC 2-10 Chonburi

Shah Alam:  Chonburi Bluewave joined Shenzhen Nanling in the semi-final from Group A of the AFC Futsal Club Championship 2013 Zone 2 Qualifiers after recording a convincing 10-2 win over Pasargad FC of the Philippines.

The Thai outfit will take on fellow tournament favourites Shenzhen Nanling on Saturday to decide the group winner while after suffering two defeats in first two matches, Pasargad joined Tainan City of Chinese Taipei to bow out of the competition. They face Tainan in an academic contest on Saturday.

Chonburi controlled the entire match against the Filipino debutants imposing relentless pressures which saw their players hitting the frame of the goal as many as three times in the first 10 minutes of the match before Tanakorn Santanaprasit broke the ice in the 10th minute.

Santanaprasit’s goal opened the floodgates of goals for the Thai side and they never looked back and went on scoring nine more goals. Pasargad’s Iranian import Davood Abbasi notched a brace as consolation in the later period of the match.
Despite winning the match quite comfortably, Chonburi Bluewave coach Pazos Mendez stressed on the need of being clinical in front of the goal.

“Yes it was an important win and with the win our place in the semi-final has been secured but there are so many areas where we need to improve specially our finishing in the beginning were appalling,” he told www.the-afc.com.
We need to be more accurate in the knockout stages because at this level there is no huge gulf amongst the team and if you fail to convert your chances, you may need to pay for it,” he warned.

“I don’t have any preference over our semi-final opponent but our target is to win all the matches so we will try our best against Shenzhen on Saturday,” he added.

Mendez’s counterpart Esmail Sedigh blamed lethargy behind the dismal showing. “We have a very young and inexperienced team and the standard of this tournament is quite high,” he said.

“Although they are from Asia, lot of Chonburi players are world class players whereas I had little luxury of top players and had little options for frequent rotation meaning my players were quite tired in the second half where we made at least five identical mistakes while giving away the goals,” he added.

AFC Futsal - Shenzhen Naling 10-2 Pasargad

Shah Alam: Iranian futsal maestro Vahid Shamsaee held the string together as Shenzhen Nanling Tielang FC of China showed their intent by thrashing Pasargad of the Philippines 10-2 in their opening Group A match of the AFC Futsal Club Championship 2013 Qualifiers.

Shenzhen were in total control of the match and after some early pressure, they broke the deadlock in the 10th minute of the match from where the floodgates opened.

The ambitious Chinese club will take on Tainan City of Chinese Taipei on Friday while Pasargad will try to stay alive in the championship by beating Thailand’s Chonburi Bluewave on the same day.

“Unfortunately, the opponents were much coordinated and were a tough side to beat,” fumed Pasargad coach Esmaeil Sedigh told www.the-afc.com.

“We were all over the place in the first half and in the second half we found a bit of our rhythm but we were up against a good side so it was not our day.

“However, I have watched our upcoming opponents’ matches early in the day and I am hopeful that we can exploit their weaknesses and progress in the tournament.

“This is first time we are playing international futsal and we hope there are lots of learning and experiences in the offing,” he added.

His counterpart, Wu Zhuoxi was elated with the performance of the team in their big win. “We had a strategy and boys just followed what was our plan so offensively and defensively we were on top of our opponents today,” the former captain of Chinese national futsal team, said.

“We are ready for other matches and we do hope that we do what we have done today in other matches,” the confident Chinese said.
