PFF STATEMENT: On Recent Social Media Allegations Concerning PFF and PSC Funds

The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) reiterates its unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and the proper stewardship of public resources. As a recipient of support from the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), the PFF strictly observes all government regulations, auditing procedures, and internal controls to ensure that every peso is properly allocated, disbursed, and documented in accordance with law and sound financial standards.

All PFF programs and expenditures are subject to rigorous internal and external review, including oversight by the PSC. To further strengthen transparency, PFF also engaged a respected independent auditing firm to verify receipts and disbursements.

PFF welcomes fair and factual scrutiny. However, unfounded and malicious accusations circulated online are reckless and irresponsible. Such claims not only tarnish the reputation of the PFF and its officers but also undermine the PSC and the entire football community whose passion and trust sustain the sport’s growth.

PFF acknowledges with gratitude the continued financial, logistical, and policy support of the PSC. This partnership underscores a shared goal: to raise the standard of Philippine football and futsal and bring honor to the country.

Baseless allegations demean the dedication of athletes, coaches, and staff who work tirelessly to advance the sport. PFF reserves the right to pursue appropriate legal remedies under Philippine law and applicable PFF regulations to protect the integrity of the institution and its stakeholders.

Parang flood control scam! Anton Del Rosario questions PH Football Federation's use of PSC funds

Former Philippine Azkals member Anton Del Rosario has raised concerns over the alleged misuse and lack of transparency in the handling of funds received by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) from the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

In a deleted social media post, Del Rosario questioned how the millions of pesos granted to the federation were being utilized, noting the absence of visible promotional efforts and reports of delayed fund approvals.

“The @phifootballfederation got millions from the @phil.sportscommission but where is the money being used??? No promotional material, delayed approvals of funds,” Del Rosario wrote.

The football veteran also mentioned hearing stories about funds being routed through shell companies, hinting at possible irregularities.

“Hearing stories of funds being coursed through shell companies. Not sure what to believe but looking more and more like a ‘Flood Control’ situation,” he said, referring to the controversial term often associated with alleged fund misuse.

Del Rosario ended his post by stressing that Philippine football athletes and fans deserve better support and accountability.

“Our girls and community deserve much better!!!” he added.

International Women's futsal friendly - Spain 7-1 Philippines

From Spanish FA website (Google translated )

Spain secured a convincing victory in their first friendly match ahead of the World Cup . Clàudia Pons ' team defeated the tournament hosts, the Philippines , in a game that served as the culmination of their first week of preparation in Las Rozas .

Spain started strong, imposing their high tempo from the outset. So much so that they were already leading 3-0 after just six minutes. Vane Sotelo opened the scoring with a low, driven shot across goal in the second minute. Shortly after, the second goal arrived, with Irene Samper 's cross from the byline being deflected into her own net by Cathrin Graversen . The third goal was scored by Peque , following a great through ball from Elena .

An advantage that could have been even greater, as the Spanish team hit the woodwork four times. This superiority led Spain to slow the pace, allowing the Philippines to settle into a more comfortable defensive position. In fact, their goal came from a rebound, when Dionesa Tolentin found herself one-on-one with Ari , whom she beat after the Madrid native parried her initial shot.

The second half continued in the same vein as the end of the first. Clàudia Pons 's team dominated possession against an opponent camped deep in their own area, waiting for a counter-attack. In fact, it took Spain eight minutes to score, when Noelia pounced on a loose ball in the box and slotted it into an empty net.

In the final stretch, three more goals arrived. Irene Samper , after a combination in the area with Peque , made the fifth, Vane Sotelo , from the 10-meter mark, made her 90th goal with the national team and Ale de Paz , with four seconds left, closed the scoring with a powerful shot into the top corner.

SPAIN

Elena, Mayte, Ale de Paz, Antía Pérez and Vane Sotelo. Also played: Noelia, Dany, Laura Córdoba, Laura Sánchez, Peque, Irene Samper, María Sanz, Irene Córdoba, Martita, Ari (GK) and Cristina (GK).

PHILIPPINES

Samantha Alasco Hughes, Dionesa Tolentin, Judy Connolly, Isabella Flanigan and Rocelle Mendaño. Also playing: Jaycee Defazio, Cathrine Buccat, Regie Recosora, Lanie Ortillo, Isabella Marie Bandoja, Charisa Lemoran, Alisha del Campo, Isabella Flanigan, Lyka Jane Cuenco, Sheen Nicole Borres, Rhea Janae Chan, Jaclyn Sawicki, Kayla Santiago (ps) and Yasmin May Elauria (ps).
