Philippines participate in Merdeka Cup in Malaysia

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), today announced that the 43rd Edition of Pestabola Merdeka 2024 will officially be held during the upcoming FIFA International Match Calendar between 2 to 10 September 2024 at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

In addition to the Harimau Malaya squad led by Kim Pan Gon who is currently ranked 135th in the world, three other teams that have confirmed participation in this edition of the competition are the defending champions, Tajikistan who are currently ranked 102nd in the world, Lebanon (117) and the Philippines (147).

These four teams will be drawn to determine their respective opponents in the first match which is Semi-Final 1 and 2, followed by the second match which is the Final which finds the winner of Semi-Final 1 and 2 and the Determination of Third Place between the two teams who lost in Semi-Final 1 and 2 .
