AFC Cup - Bali United 5-2 Stallion Laguna
Goals from Andhika Wijaya, Mohammed Rashid, Elias Dolah and Eber Bessa earned Teco’s side a four-goal lead before Jayvee Kallukaran and Griffin McDaniels gave the visitors hope of a revival until Jefferson snuffed out that possibility four minutes from time.
Irfan had the defence on the backfoot again in first half injury time as he powered towards goal but this time his low shot was comfortably collected by Pepito.
Kallukaran struck from wide on the left with a shot that arced over Adilson Maringa in the 69th minute to pull one back for Laguna and he turned provider eight minutes later to set up McDaniels’ header.
But Jefferson raced through on goal as Laguna pushed forward in the 86th minute to put the result beyond doubt.

Round 2 - Group F: Philippines 1-1 Indonesia
The hosts controlled possession in the opening exchanges as they looked for an opening, but it was Indonesia who were looking more threatening on the counter.
Indonesia grew into the game after a slow start, but were restricted to long range efforts without testing the Philippines' Neil Ethridge once.
As the second half began, the visitors came out with a higher intensity. Saddil Ramdani sent out an early warning sign in the opening two minutes of the restart with a shot from the edge of the box. However, a series of corners were dealt with comfortably by the hosts.
However, with 20 minutes left, Indonesia drew level. A fantastic run from Ricky Kambuaya, beating three players, found Ramdani out wide who opened his body to curl in a stunning strike into the top corner.
The hosts began to fatigue as Indonesia looked to complete the turnaround. With less than five minutes on the clock, a quick free kick was taken but Ethridge was once again wise to the danger.
Next up, the Philippines face Iraq away from home in the new year, while Indonesia will host Vietnam in Group F.

Philippines 0-2 Vietnam
The Philippine Men’s National Team missed out on a chance to claim a maiden win in the FIFA World Cup 26/AFC Asian Cup 2027 Preliminary Joint Qualifiers Round 2 after yielding to Vietnam, 0-2, before a packed crowd at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.
Nguyen Van Toan and Nguyen Dinh Bach were on the mark for the Vietnamese, scoring in each side of the half to take the full three points.
Buoyed by the 10,327-strong fans at the Rizal Memorial Stadium, the Azkals hoped to spring a surprise early on as OJ Porteria’s first effort went straight to Dang Van Lam in the 10th minute. Patrick Reichelt followed it up with his volleyed chance that went right of the post.
Van Toan broke the deadlock in the 16th minute with a shot from the center of the box.
Despite the deficit, the Philippines tried to find the equalizer and came close from sending the pack crowd into frenzy with chances from Santiago Rublico and substitute Bienvenido Marañon in the second half.
The missed chances proved costly as Dinh Bach scored Vietnam’s second goal right before full-time.
The Philippines look to bounce back when they face Indonesia on Tuesday 21 November 2023 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The stage is set for the PFF Women’s League 2023 sponsored by Coca-Cola Philippines final this Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila between Kaya FC-Iloilo and Manila Digger FC.
The first all-club final will kick-off at 7:00 pm preceded by the Third Place match between collegiate rivals De La Salle University and Far Eastern University at 4:00 pm.
Led by Filipinas standouts Hali Long and Inna Palacios, Kaya mustered its way in the elimination stage at the top of the table with 22 points with seven wins, one draw, and one defeat with a whopping +36 goal differential before edging three-time champions De La Salle University, 2-1, in the semi-finals.
Kaya will lean on forward Shelah Cadag (12 goals) and midfielder Camille Rodriguez (7 goals) in the final.
“Facing against Manila Digger can be both exciting and challenging. We’ve worked incredibly hard to reach this point, and now, it’s time for the final showdown,” said Kaya head coach Marnelli Dimzon. “I encourage the players to maintain focus and adapt to setbacks and challenges during a game. fostering a positive and resilient mindset, emphasizing teamwork, and reminding players to stay composed under pressure. It’s about maintaining a never-give-up attitude.”
Manila Digger, on the other hand, finished third in the eliminations sporting a similar record, however a +21 goal differential saw them finish third in the standings behind FEU, which they dispatched in the semi-finals following a nervy 4-3 penalty shootout win.
Candida Quarshie has been a constant threat for Manila Digger in the elimination stage with eight goals to her name.
“Kaya, is one of the bests team in this tournament. We are not at all worried or pressured preparing for the finals,” said Manila Digger head coach Gerard Orcullo. “We just go on our usual training sessions, improving our players the best way they can be, and to beat Kaya will be a big boost to the morale of our players and the team.”
The two teams last met in the elimination round last 21 August 2023 at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite with both teams settling for a scoreless draw in a tight clash which saw Kaya get denied the winner as Charisa Lemoran’s strike was denied by the cross bar.

PFF bares 26-man lineup for World Cup qualifiers at home
MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) announces the 26-man roster that will represent the country in the first two matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026/AFC Asian Cup 2027 Preliminary Joint Qualifiers Round 2 against Vietnam on 16 November and Indonesia on 21 November at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila.
Men’s National Team coach Michael Weiss said he based his selection on player availability as well as the last five FIFA International Friendly matches against Nepal, Chinese Taipei, Afghanistan, and Bahrain from June to October 2023.
Goalkeeper and captain Neil Etheridge leads the squad along with veterans Manny Ott, Patrick Reichelt, Mike Ott, Kenshiro Daniels, OJ Porteria, and Daisuke Sato.
“It’s a good mixture of experienced mainstays for a long time and young well-developing talents brought on by the recent performances of Philippine clubs in AFC competitions,” said Weiss. “It gives us reason to be optimistic for our first World Cup qualifier matches against Vietnam and Indonesia.”
While a few players are missing out due to different reasons, Weiss said: “We focus on the ones, who are with us for the qualifiers.”
With two Southeast Asian rivals arriving for the two matches, Weiss hopes that the home support will help propel his squad to important results.
The PFF also launched the campaign #StandYourGround #10KStrong to encourage support for the team in the first two matches of the qualifiers.
“A very important factor is the enthusiasm and support of the 12th man,” said Weiss. “We hope the fans come in numbers to the stadium, and be part of history.”
