ormer Philippine Azkals midfielder Misagh Bahadoran is more than thrilled with his comeback to competitive football after swearing his services to Global Football Club ahead of the 2020 Philippine Football League (PFL) season.
The Filipino-Iranian winger will finally embrace again the atmosphere of professional football after almost two years of inactivity. Bahadoran’s last stint was with Perak Football Association in Malaysia.
“Due to several serious injuries, I thought about quitting football and focusing on my business. But I couldn’t find that happiness and joy that football gave me, so I would like to thank Global for welcoming me back,” Bahadoran said.
Bahadoran, 33, played a huge role in Global’s three United Football League (replaced by PFL) championships before he decided to offer his talents in Malaysia.
Bahadoran and several new players will banner Global, which is on a bid to return to its glory days following the entry of Hong Kong-based consortium Manzinyi Management Ltd.
The other fresh recruits who will play for the team are John Cofie, Jose Villareal, Alan Martin, Sulemaan Naeem, Jordan Jarvis, Andreas Esswein, Ziggy Ae, Nico Quintana, Ryan Jarvis, and former Kaya FC-Iloilo player Yannick Tuason.
Negrense Jerry Barbaso – longest-tenured player in the club – is also returning for another year, while former Filipino international Dominic del Rosario also signed with the team last month.
