Kaya Futbol Club would like to announce more good news as the Kaya family grows bigger with the signing of Australian goalkeeper Matthew Acton, Ghanaian goalkeeper Isaac Annan, and Senegalese striker Robert Lopez Mendy.
Matthew Acton, from Thuringowa Central, Australia, played for Olympic FC before joining Kaya. He previously played for Yangon United in the Myanmar National League and became the first Australian goalkeeper to join the league. Upon his arrival, he started in all 14 of his league matches, keeping five clean sheets, and eventually helped Yangon finish second in the league. Prior to playing overseas, he spent seven years with A-League team Brisbane Roar, where he returned for a brief spell before joining Olympic FC in 2015. He also represented Australia at the U20 level.
Isaac Annan, from Accra, Ghana, established and developed his football career in Ghana, where he played for Unistar Soccer Academy, Pure Joy FC, and Charity FC, respectively. He also got called up to Ghana’s U20 team in 2010. He’s a fearless and formidable shot stopper, and we hope he can establish himself at Kaya as well.
Robert Lopez Mendy, from Dakar, Senegal, previously played for Green Archers United FC. Having scored for the Archers on numerous occasions, he helped the team reach its goals through his goal-scoring exploits and fantastic performances in the United Football League (UFL).
We would like to give a warm welcome to our new signings, who are a testament to our intentions to strengthen our squad, continue where we left off from last season, and start the year with hope and promise.
Boring league and always relying on more foreigners for attraction but big money is at stake while investing on our own players can make them a good profit but the UFL should focus more on "Technicality" and not on the Physicality of play and the built and height of its players. Don't you see Filipinos will always love and adore on their own especially if it came from their neighborhood. Just ask AlDub fans if you want proof. Officiating should be strict on physical play so technical players will blossom and be more of a gem to the league and to the Philippine Football...
ReplyDeleteI agree while foreigners will introduce some quality to the league, for marketing purposes the league should take advantage of the regionalistic tendencies of pinoys. Marketing of the UFL is weak as of the moment, the website is not updated, no livestreaming in youtube, no intricate statistics for the statistic-loving fans (beyond goalscorers). To be fair the 2016, they require youth teams for the division 1 clubs.
Deletecrazy football in the p.i,so sad.
ReplyDeleteThe pros of having foreign players - it will force the locals to be as competitive by having to keep outplaying their foreign peers by playing better on the field
ReplyDeleteThe cons - some locals are spaced out
It happens in any sports categories even basketball
Gets mo?
DeleteNo, we should limit them and not overpopulate them in our league. Only fools and slave minded freaks watch many of them.
ReplyDeleteGood ideas...lets ban foreigners so only Locals will benefit. Let have a league that's not physical so only locals who know how to dribble the ball will look good. Oh...and lets market Football like a love team....idoits
ReplyDeleteYou are the one thinking like an idiot because you base you kind of football in basketball style where physicality is the "In Thing" in Oligarchic Manila... The above blogger said not to overpopulate and not to ban them. You Manila imbeciles are always making a general assumption every time you comment.
ReplyDeleteclubs in UFL won't survive the competition without signing overseas players or imports.
remember the UFL is a sanction league by NCRFA kaya the rest of the matches, venues and lahat ng local players recrutited from provinces ay kailangang mag relocate sa heart of Imperial Republic of Manila kasama ang mga imports.
football is a developing national sport but still strugling sa Imperial Manila Due to competitions and variety of choices ng NCR populations when it comes of choosing products.
like Pepsi (football) competing Coca Cola (basketball,MMA\boxing)to increase their market.
let's hope and pray that Mr. Duterte wins the presidential race dahil ang unang agenda ay i decentralize ang Imperial Republic of Manila para i relocate lahat ng manufacturing companies sa mga probinsiya and magtayo ng reclamation areas or island state to accomodate displace populations na galing Metro Manila.
pag nangyari yan yung talent, employment, infrastructure and competitions ay mag spread out nationwide.
pag naging decentralize ang government natin yung developing of homegrown talents in football, sports development and promotion hindi na maging problema kasi they don't need to rely on National government.
kaya ng magpatayo ng LGU with the support of private partner ng isang decent national football stadium, magkaroon ng sariling football club and regional fan base.
through decentralization of our government mapapabilis ang pagsikat ng National Premier league sa bansa dahil bawat region ay magiging Federal States na.
The UFL is a league sanctioned by the Philippine Football Federation and not the NCRFA.

ReplyDeleteLol have you watched premier league, la liga, bundesliga, a-league, j-league in japan, korean league, chinese super league and other football leagues in the world? They will always accept foreigners and lots of money is gained through these transfers. A football league or any other sports league would have little progress if it is for locals only. So, nood muna tayo ng ibang liga to avoid ignorance, okay?
ReplyDeleteClubs are permitted to register two (2) foreign players in the 2016 AFC CUP
Delete4 Foreign players per team should be the rule for UFL - the two can start while others as substitute so we can see the emergence of our homegrown players and its a preparation too for future AFC competitions. As we all know , we still have the Fil-foreigners coming here and there and it looses the chance too to our homegrowns and not only the position but also their jobs are at stake. I know you will not bother seeing them but if you have sons, brothers and relatives who aspire to become pro footballers it also affects you. So , to have this balance the only solution is to limit foreign players to only 4 per team. Some are good but the locals will tend to rely them more if you have many but limiting them can create an unknown one and make the fans want to see every matches because its a local hero and we know it is in the Pinoy bloods that we admire them when we watch them in nationwide television. It's a fact alright..
Delete@anon 9:51
ReplyDeleteif we aim to excel in AFC club competitions..PFF and UFL should find a reliable media partner para sa better tv coverage.
nabubulok lang sa Sports 5 ang UFL..football is not top priority of aksyon tv sports 5 masyado silang naka focus sa coverage ng PBA,PCBL,PSL and Filsports.
interesado sila doon sa emerging market nila na may existing viewers....instead of creating new market for other sports.
it is a must for UFL Marketing group na maging creative and resourceful to attract viwership and gate attendance.
@dec 28 at 22:15
ReplyDeleteUFL is the under the organization of NCRFA..it is a Manila league..considered a de facto league by PFF.
we don't have a Premier league...una sanction yan ng NCRFA and an independent league na labas ang PFF.
after Miracle in Hanoi nagkaroon ng formality ang relationship ng PFF sa UFL kaya naging sanction siya ng PFF dahil kailangan ng Pilipinas ng isang domestic league that will temporary meet international recognition habang wala pang National league.
from NCRFA sanction ( UFL) now PFF recognize them as de facto semi-Pro domestic league .
@dec 27 12:03.
ReplyDeletewe can't limit the influx of foreign players...walang matitira sa roster ng isang Club pag binawasan mo pa sila.
we can't blame local based Club in Manila if they prefer foreign players over local.
if Duterte wins and he decentralize Manila and Luzon area mas mapapabilis ng konti ang Promotion ng football sa bansa and less struggle sa i launch na National league.
pag na decentralize ang NCR through federal system kaya na ng mga local regions mag produce ng sariling local clubs and homegrown talent.
Tama, Federalism is the answer
ReplyDelete@ 29 december at 13:20
ReplyDeletetama ka federalism
United States,Russia,UK monarchy federalism, UAE semi monarch federalism, commonwelth federalism Australia , federal-parliamentary Canada and other progressive nations
kung hindi man sila lahat federalism ay parliamentary system sila and decentralize ang economy nila na bawat region they are autonomous-independent.
why English Premier league,NFL,NHL,NBA,MLS,A-league,J-league and Bundesliga survive for decades unlike defunct sports league like MBA in the Philippines dahil hindi sila Unitary yung mga clubs nila kayang suportahan ng kanilang autonomous federal government.
we always insist that all home games of Azkals and UFL should transfer to Visayan region na football hot bed but the problem is the Imperial Manila neglected the sport for almost century.
how come Imperial Manila able to Promote UAAP and NCAA nationwide na puro mga schools based in Manila samantalang ang Visayas and Mindanao sports league ay hirap i-penetrate Market sa Imperial Manila.
How about the Visayas and Mindanao school teams? is Federalism the asnwer to all of these? Pagdating kasi sa UniGames tinatalo ng Visayas team ang NCR kaya i thought why not include them in UAAP and NCAA since they can compete and besides its school based and we Philippines is not compose of NCR alone.
ReplyDeleteLaos na soccer. Mamakla n lng kyo

Kaya nga may transfers dahil kada continent iba ang style of play. At ang experience nang ibat ibang klaseng players can improve the quality of the league.
Kung ano ang uso sa kanilang bansa gusto agad ganito din dito which should be done in critical thinking before assuming.

Marami na sila dito at nawawalan na nag playing time at slots mga locals which is a sad state dahil madadagdagan ang mga jobless natin.
Deletelol. matagal ko nang nabasa ang article na yan. those 2 articles sums up my opinion nah. oo ganyan talaga ang mangyayari sa foreigners at mas marami sa kanila ang nahuhumaling sa sport. pero kung marami rin ang maginterest na pinoy sa sport at kung matatanggap sila sa barcelona, man united at ibang malaking clubs. eh maganda din yan sa ekonomiya di ba? at magdedepnde talaga yan sa coach sa team o sa manager ng isang club. at nasagot ko na yung post yung post mo tungkol sa importance ng foreign players. dahil sa different style of play at mas marami naman silang experience frankly speaking dahil mas magaling ang kanilang sistema doon at well established na talaga sila. pabalik balik na ako ng post tungkol dito. ireview mo lang mga post ko. yun na yun. at sino namang manager na tatanggi kung sasali c lionel messi o ronaldo sa local club mo? opportunity naman yun. its how a football club works, the stronger the lineup, the better and the manager or a coach doesnt care if your from another country or local as long as you got the win they wanted... at ginawa nila yan dahil siguro may mas magandang experience nakita sila sa mga foreigners na yan. thats just pure business di ba? more wins, the better. its that simple. at kung ikaw yung manager bahala ka. its your decision naman. kaya buti na lang meron foreigner limit ang ufl. the important things that are clearly stated in the article are that the league must be nationwide so that there will be more local talents that will be considered, second the grassroots must also improve and last but not the least the re must be more interest in the general public. the more fans, the football club has, the more money and everything follows.
Delete@Dec 29 18:16
ReplyDeleteDahil Unitary system na minana natin from our Colonizer Spain and United States ruins our country and culture for the sake of their vested agenda to seek economic gains kaya ngayon hindi makahaon ang Pilipinas bilang third world economy.
the introduction of basketball, baseball and volleyball all started in Manila kaya mabilis nilang na i propagate and criculate nationwide.
unlike football na ang history ay unang set foot sa Visayan region...dahil hindi nagstart sa manila the central NCR neglected the sport almost century.
kahit mas magaling pa ang mga players sa Unigames from Visayas and Mindanao they can never beat UAAP and NCAA in terms of hype popularity.
both Manila Based collegiate leagues they machineries, funding and support from mainstream medias, businessmen, influencial elites and politicians from NCR.
kaya Federalism will plug the holes.
