Loyola aims for second UFL spot

The Loyola Meralco Sparks look to move closer to the top of the standings as they face Pasargad FC in United Football League action Thursday at the Emperador Stadium in Mckinley Hill in Taguig.
The Sparks play Pasargad at 7:30 p.m. after the match between Green Archers United Globe and Philippine Air Force at 5:15 p.m.
Currently sitting at third place with 29 points, Loyola aims for a victory to keep close with League leader Stallion Sta.Lucia, which has 12 wins and one loss to show for 36 points.
Pasargad, meanwhile, hopes to score an upset against the Sparks to gain some points and move up its position in the League table, which is at seventh place with 11 points.
In the first match, Green Archers and Air Force play in a crucial match as they battle against relegation.
Green Archers is currently at eighth place with eight points, while Air Force is at the ninth spot with six points. The winner of the match will gain some separation from the relegation zone.
The ninth-seed team at the end of the season will play the Division Two runner-up in a playoff match for a spot in Division One, while the last-placed team will be automatically relegated to the second division.
