In the meantime Australia as expected, ran the Philippines ragged with an 8-2 beating in the game that was played earlier.
The decision by Australian coach Ufuk Talay to rest key players gave the Philippines a more fighting chance at the start when John Roberts opener after just five minutes was cancelled out by Jelani Borbon eight minutes later.
Roberts then gave the advantage to Australia once again in the 22nd minute following a mad scramble only for Fidel Victor Tacardon to give the Philippines their second equaliser two minutes later.
The change for Ryan Yates in place of Andrew Visciglio gave Australia more bite at the centre of the park and from then on, they never looked back as they went on to pile the goals with Roberts adding two more in the 28th and 43rd minute.
The remainder of the goals were scored by Dylan Ryan in the 31st minute, Rahmat Akbari (70th), Marc Moric (79th) and Lachlan Brook (87th).
Following the completion of matches in Group B tonight, the semi-finals matches will be played in two days at the National Olympic Stadium.
The semi-finals fixtures will see Laos taking on Myanmar in the first game while Australia will entertain Thailand in the second tie.

Being an AFC A license doesn't always guarantee into a successful coach. Many Pinoy coaches are only good in lectures and practicals but fail miserably in the actual game.
ReplyDeletevery true...not only in football but in all sports...
Deletethomas dooley, freddie roach, rajko toroman and Tab Baldwin sila lang mas may kakayahang mag maximize and develop ng raw talent ng mga homegrown players .
puro publicity, press release, pag-iiyak and pag aalibi sa harap ng media ang mga local coaches keyso kulang sila sa budget, di makuha ang players na gusto nila and late na sila nakapagtraining.
Everthing is possible in this world. What we need is just determination; your good luck depends on your firm belief..( ^_^ )/~~
ReplyDeleteat least we scored 2 goals as consolation. di na masama against Aussie kahit sabihin pang pinagbigyan and underestimate ng Aussie national coach ang Azkals U16
How much more kung ang first eleven pa kaya?
Deleteanung problema if Aussie manager rested his key players? at least binigyan nila ng experience, exposure and lessons ang Azkals U16.
Deleteeverybody knows we don't have even a slim chances na maka draw or score man lang sa heavyweight squad ng young Socceroo na future World Cuppers..buti naka score
ngayon either pinagbigyan or hindi buti naka goal kahit 2 lang.
Ano kaya ang plan B ni Dan Palami - the master showman of Philippine Football...
Not a suprise that the Philippines lost, but I think its positive that they managed to score a couple of goals and that they didnt concede double digits.
ReplyDeleteI watched all the games how come the coaches put in 4 different starters? They don't know who their good players are. During the 4 games we had more yellow cards than our opponents. Coaches instructions?! Coaches should teach players how to be tough, not rough.
