Cebu Football - Cimafranca hits 5 goals for ANS in Interclub

AFTER falling short in its campaign last year, Abellana National School (ANS)-Pomeroy showed its intent to do better this year with a lopsided win in the opening day of the Cebu Amateur Football Club National Interclub Football Cup over Blessed John XXIII Seminary (BJS) at the University of San Carlos-Technology Center (USC-TC) yesterday.

ANS-Pomeroy, which bowed to Sta. Rita, 1-0, in last year’s Boys 17 championship, put up a scoring clinic with an 11-3 win to bag three points.

ANS-Pomeroy put the match out of reach in the first half as they took a 7-2 lead.

Matsui Cimafranca of ANS-Pomeroy had an impressive performance and scored a hat trick in just the first 23 minutes of the match.

Rogelio Castillon and reinforcement Miguel Caindec, who is from Don Bosco Technology Center, scored two goals each, while Alger Montayre and Joeford Dolino added a goal apiece.

Rudy Miller Jr., Shaun Revalde and Christopher Cabugas scored a goal each for Blessed John.

Meanwhile, USC-TC routed MTI, 4-1, at the USC-TC football grounds, while Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu demolished USC-North Campus, 6-0, at the San Roque field in the other matches of the Boys 17 division yesterday.

Hiroshi FC also defeated home team USC-TC, 2-0, in the only Men’s Open game in opening day.
Voltaire Montebon broke the silence in the first half as he hit the net in the 43rd minute., while striker Junard Aguilar sealed the game with a 70th-minute goal.

In other matches, MTI won a one-sided, 19-0, game over SJSM/3Bros in the Boys 14 class; Paref-Springdale edged out Canduman, 2-1, in the Boys’ 12 division; and San Roque Royal United trounced Canduman, 6-0.

CAFC matches will resume today at USC-TC, Paref Springdale and San Roque fields.
