PASARGAD presses its bid for Division 1 survival as it takes on Pachanga on Saturday in the United Football League at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig.
The relegation-threatened squad has been stuck at the bottom of the nine-team pile since the start of the season, but has been somewhat on a resurgence since the arrival of new coach Myk Agbayani.
Under the former Forza mentor in the last three games, Pasargad has seen its defense improve en route to picking up two precious points and move just four points behind eighth-running Socceroo.
So eager was Pasargad that Stallion coach Ernie Nierras felt the squad resorted to delay tactics to preserve its draw against the defending champions last time.
“There’s pressure on my back,” said Agbayani, who replaced Ayi Nii Aryee. “We are really more of preparing the team step by step.”
And a victory for Pasargad in the 6:15 p.m. encounter will enable the squad to inch closer Socceroo.
Pasargad can lay claim to defeating Pachanga, 2-1, in the first round, and providing a scare before surrendering a close 0-1 loss in their next meeting.
The fourth-running Stallions face seventh-ranked Philippine Army in the nightcap at 8:30 p.m.
