Reymark Fernandez (Green Archers United) is replacing Dennis Cagara.
Would rather see the under23 play and proof themselves if they deserve a place at sea games.
ReplyDeleteAgain PFF do not now how create more games for the under 23.
PFF (Palami) is afraid of losing, thats why theyre fielding a strong lineup against teams that are beatable with their squad that are based in the UFL.
DeleteAll other countries wouldve fielded up and coming players, testing new formations etc, but never for the azkals.
The Peace Cup is within FIFA match dates. We have every right to call-up as much foreign based players as possible. We rarely see the likes of Schrock anyway, so what's the problem?
DeleteAt the same time, the Philippines is different compared to "other countries" you mention. Our up and coming players aren't ready yet for full international level. The gap between local football and international play is significant.
So if you're gonna put any blame for the non-inclusion of our supposed up and coming players (whoever they are), blame the PFF for not doing anything for the U-23's because that's the stepping stone to senior team. You can't just expect Weiss or whoever else to throw in random players just for the sake of it!!
LOL!
DeleteIts like fielding Messi against a non-league side in a friendly game.
Listen, if we wanna keep up with the rest of SEA, we need homegrown players who can keep up. How can we get them to do that when they dont get any chance? How can we develop the younger players when Palami and the PFF always rely on the filipino-foreigners. They, the filipinos based abroad, are the only reason to why we have such a high ranking. We are nothing without them. The PFF _is_ Palami, and he is also the one to blame when it comes to the U23. He holds everything in his hands, the puppeteer, and yes, the PFF = puppets.
To sum it up, we will never get to that level because our homegrown talents wont get a chance. We have to rely with players like Araneta, Gener and Margarse until they turn 45. Thats how you put it.
Doesnt matter if we dont see much of Schrock. We know what he is capable of, we know what he stands for, save him for the bigger games, and not for games against Guam and whatsoever.
Yeah, Philippines arent like other countries. But who cares. Problem is, that they go for the quick fix instead, and will always do.
Btw, take Caligdong for instance. He was nothing but a sub years ago, but now that he has gotten more experience, and given faith by the coach, he shows that he too can perform at a good level.
Self confidence can do alot to a player, specially for the younger players. If they arent shown trust etc, they wont develop and progress.
PS. Weiss will never throw in random players, heck, he doesnt even know how to use subs! LOL!

Delete"Its like fielding Messi against a non-league side in a friendly game."
You're seriously taking the piss with that one!!
Anyway, again, you're very typical. You think that we should use the SENIOR NT as means to develop players! If we want more homegrown players in the SENIOR NT, then other teams such as the U-23's need to be more active before they step up to senior level!! So blame that shit on Palami or whoever else within the PFF!!
"Btw, take Caligdong for instance. He was nothing but a sub years ago, but now that he has gotten more experience, and given faith by the coach, he shows that he too can perform at a good level."
Caligdong is a non-example!! Sure he's a regular for whatever reason but that doesn't mean he's any good. Technically he's an extremely poor player. The only thing which he's actually improved on over the last few years is his off the ball movement and thus gets into some decent scoring positions/opportunities. But that's it, decent WITHOUT the ball and that's not much of a footballer, let alone a full international!
zzz
DeleteThe only reason they won't face formidable oppositions like Kyrgyzstan or New Caledonia and it's only tri-nation tournament instead of the usual four is that in PFF's foolishness they only started inviting teams and prioritizing Peace Cup 2-3 weeks before the tournament. They already knew that most Asian teams will be busy from September to November because of SEAG and AFC Qualifiers.
DeleteToo much focusing on U-23 since the win vs Hong Kong and later they won't be allowed to participate in SEAG; that is one hard lesson PFF should learn.
"Too much focusing on U-23 since the win vs Hong Kong"
DeleteIronic thing is, their supposed focus on the U-23's was barely anything. All they had to show for it was a few domestic mini camps and a friendly against Singapore and then they do half-assed job in organizing the Peace Cup. Bunch of retards in the PFF!!
Haven't followed Fil football for quite a while....just read the line-up.........How about Javier Patino? Is he injured??
ReplyDeleteyes , he is injured
DeleteHe is ready to play around Oct 20 he tweeted..
Delete^^Good! He should be fit by the time the NT goes to Abu Dhabi next month.
DeletePeople here look only for the present and not the future of Azkals..
ReplyDeleteWhat future? U strike while the iron is hot. We dont knw when this fad ends
DeleteIt won't end if you invest in the future. However, investing in the future does not mean fielding incompetent players. Development must be at the core of the youth setup, and they must develop within their age category.
Delete@ Anonymous 5 October 2013 11:06
DeleteGood to know that there are people like you who understand this. Unlike dumb asses such as Anonymous 4 October 2013 16:59 who thinks we should field random players in the full NT so they can "develop".
@anon 5 October 11:06
DeleteMan, it is good to have such a self proclaimed expert with foul language and whatnot. Whats next. Fill up the UFL with foreigners, so that no filipino talents will get to play? Oh yeah, i forgot, thats already happening.
No one said that the Azkals should field incompetent players. What was said was that they should give younger players more chances. Such a player is for instance Patrick Deyto. I understand that they arent many of them, but the ones should be given a chance.
Dont have a hissyfit just because someone doesnt agree. If i wouldve guessed, you could be Ernie Nierras twin brother! LOOOL!
zzzzzz
DeleteThe onlything they can contribute to the future of Azkals is make the U-23 a regular team of UFL regardless of division.
ReplyDeleteThey already tried that in the pre-season tournament. But funny thing is, the players that are released for the U23 also play for their clubs in the same tournament.
DeleteThey don't have to be all-filipino in the team, that is inevitable having foreigners in every team, just a squad to help the local talents develop. That is not too hard to do.
Delete@ Anonymous 6 October 2013 09:12
DeleteLOL! Then that's just a regular football club! Nothing different to what's already there!
Dennis Cagara withdrew , updated squad list...
ReplyDeleteLeague matches on FIFA match dates... brilliant!!
DeleteBased on the game against Indonesia I think Weiss will have a liberal use of his substitutes especially once they are able to control the tempo of their game. This is the perfect chance to tweak on their system especially the midfield. This is the kind of tournament where they will both win and give exposure to up-and-coming players (who are named).
