Kuala Lumpur: Two time AFC President’s Cup winners and four-time runners up Dordoi FC of Kyrgyzstan will travel to the Philippines to play its matches of Group B in the group stages of the AFC President’s Cup 2013.
Dordoi will face the challenges of debutant and host Global FC and Pakistan’s regular KRL Football Club as well as fellow South Asian Yazdeen FC of Bhutan.
Likewise, the League champions of Nepal, which will be decided by early April, got 2011 champions Taiwan Power Company and also Abahani Limited of neighbour Bangladesh and Erchim FC of Mongolia who are participating in the competition for the second time in row after making the President’s Cup debut in 2012. Nepal will host the Group A in Kathmandu.
Cambodian champions BeoungKet Rubber FC will host Group C where they face the Palestine champions Alquds Hilal Club, Balkan of Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka Army Sports Club.
All the matches of the group stages will be held in the second week of May and the finals will take place in September 2013. A total of six teams, group winners and runners-up, will qualify for the finals.
