United Football League squad Nomads FC will parade what it believes as its “best team ever” for the upcoming League competition.
The expat-bolstered Nomads lured three players from other teams, namely former Kaya FC defender Adrien Semblat, previous Global FC midfielder Fidelis Nnabuife and ex-Penson Stallion Giligan’s midfielder Selu Lozano.
The squad has also signed foreigners Bafio Magassa, Mickael Cordoso and Camille Cremet, adding more diversity to its roster which has players originating from 12 countries, including the Philippines.
“We fully believe that this is the best team that Nomads has ever fielded,” goalkeeper Jeffrey Blake said. “We have added some very good signings to the strong core of players that we had last year.”
Nomads manager John Jofre also expressed his optimism about his team’s new acquisitions. ”These signings not only give us much more strength of depth in our squad, they also give us more options in terms of shape and formation, and more importantly, they give us a bit more creativity,” he said.
In its Division 1 debut in last year, Nomads finished seventh in the League competition, while it failed to qualify for the knockout stages of the Cup due to inferior goal differential in its group.
Led by team captain Randy Musters, Nomads will debut its new players against reigning League champion Global FC in the PFF-SMART National Club Championships on Sunday.
