Philippines are reportedly set to add the services of another European-based striker to their already star-studded pool of players.
According to reports in Philippines, Segunda Division club CF Cordoba striker Javier Patino will be obtaining Philippines nationality, thus allowing him to be eligible to be called up by the Azkals.
However, the striker, who is eligible for a Philippines passport through his mother, will be delaying his application process due to club commitments.
"As of now, Javier is coordinating withhis club for him to leave Spain on Sunday,"Azkals liaison officer Rafa Garcia told interAKTV.
"He was supposed to be here on Wednesday, but the return flight will not make him reach his practice session at Cordoba which was the agreement.
"When he arrives here, we will fix his passport for his eligibility. He, too, is doing all he can to come here and play for his mother's land."
The Azkals are hoping to boost their chances with the striker within their ranks for the upcoming 2014 AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers which will begin in March.
