CEBU Queen City United routed Lions Meltique Beef FC, 4-1, to solidify its hold of the third spot at the end of the first round of the United Football League Division 2.
Rommel Cuizon and newly-signed Ariel Cahilig got the first two goals for Queen City before the Lions scored late in the first half for a 2-1 score.
In the second half, it was all Queen City as they added two more goals for the final tally.
Queen City now has 25 points on an 8-1-2 record and has not lost in its last seven matches.
After playing 11 matches, all Division 2 teams will meet anew for the second round and the top-ranked team will be promoted to the first division, replacing the bottom ranked team.
Pachanga, the last team to beat Queen City, leads the table with 31 points after drawing second placer Diliman in its last match, while Agila FC is fourth with 21 and Laos is fifth with 15.
Meanwhile, in Div. 1, Global FC whipped Kaya FC, 5-1, to improve to 21 points after nine matches, while Loyola drew Air Force, 3-3, for second place with 19 points. However, Loyola has a game at hand.
