ReplyDeleteI got a question here.
Can Challenge Cup participants enter the normal Asian Cup qualifier too ? So i mean, can PH enter the normal qualifier if we don't win the Challenge Cup ?
No , AFC Challenge Cup is only chance to qualify for Asian Cup for Philippines
ReplyDeletePhilippines got two changes to qualify for 2015 Asian Cup : 2012 AFC Challenge Cup and 2014 AFC Challenge Cup
ReplyDeleteHi Jonny. What if the same team wins the AFC CC this year and in 2014. Who qualifies for the 2015 Asian Cup? Will the extra slot be unused and alloted for the qualifiying tournament instead?
ReplyDeleteI think the second placed team in 2014 qualify if the winner is the same in 2012 and 2014.
ReplyDeleteThere will be two slots for teams competing in AFC Challenge Cup competitions.
what I can't understand is why North Korea, which particpated twice in the Fifa World Cup and is higher ranked in the AFC than Indonesia, Thailand, UAE, Syria etc. starts in the Challenge cup for developing countries.....and weaker teams like Hongkong or Jemen starts in the normal qualifaction stage.....ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteAs far as i was informed before, it's not only the level of national teams, but also related to the quality(?) of the countries' football association, including domestic league and all.
DeleteNorth Korea is, as all knows, an extreme communist country and they don't(can't) have proper professional league which AFC requires, and i think this could be one of the reasons why they've stayed at "emerging country" status despite their decent NT.
Anyway, i heard that this year's edition would be their last Challenge Cup entrance, and if so, 2014 edition will be much easier.
