The San Carlos City Negros Football Club will host the 2011 Philippine Football Federation Football Caravan tomorrow and Sunday, at San Julio Realty football field in San Carlos, Negros Occidental, a press release from organizers said.
Teams from Southridge Manila headed by Filbert Alquiros will be bringing in 60 players aged 6-8 years, 9-10, 11-12, and under 16 boys for the two-day event.
Negros Oriental teams will be participating, as well as contingents from the municipalities of Siaton and Amlan. Tanjay City will be fielding in footballers on all categories. Escalante and Sagay Cities, University of St. La Salle and teams from Bacolod City confirmed for Negros Occidental.
Cebu International School headed by coach Joel Deen will represent Cebu together with Sacred Heart School and Ateneo de Cebu, the press release said.
This annual event is a good venue for promoting football, as well as sports tourism in San Carlos. The football caravan will then go to Bacolod and Iloilo, the press release added.*
