BEFORE its upcoming 2014 Fifa World Cup Qualifier match with Sri Lanka in June, the Azkals will have a short trip to Cebu City to strengthen its bond as a team.
The Azkals, the PHL Men’s squad, is scheduled to arrive in Cebu City on May 25 for a one-week team-building exercise.
“Their purpose for being here is team-building,” said Cebu Football Association president Richard Montayre in an interview by Sun.Star Cebu yesterday.

However, in the Azkals’ one-week stay in Cebu City, Montayre wants to insert in the squad’s busy schedule some activities for young footballers.
“We are still waiting for their schedule. We will look at it and work around it and schedule a clinic,” he said.
The Azkals will be in enemy territory on June 29 to face Sri Lanka in the first leg of the 2014 Fifa World Cup Qualifier, while the second leg of the match will be in the Philippines on July 3.
Montayre also said the team was offered to stay at the Plantation Bay in Lapu-Lapu City, but the Azkals haven’t confirmed where they will be staying in Cebu.
