we dropped a few notches because we lost the points gained during the 2008 afc challenge cup in iloilo, where the NT drew one and won two matches.

ReplyDeletewell this is due to the 2 games we lost to indonesia.
ReplyDelete"back to page 4"....hahahaha! that's a good one!
ReplyDeleteNo big deal. Its temporary. We have no where to go but up.
ReplyDeleteFuuuuuuuuuuuu...
ReplyDelete...Really, no biggie. We're right where we should be and hopefully on the ascendancy
we really need a youth programme from PFF, Dept of Education and POC in place linking the schools both public and private in their PE subjects and youth football academies and tournaments, and the local government setting up football fields to play on.... A national stadium and a professional league. Coaches training and network in place....that's the only way to move our rankings up.
ReplyDeletehow come? Thailand +2 and Singapore +1 when they even didn't qualify for the Suzuki Cup Semi Finals! I believe Philippines should be 148, plus 2 points from 150 ranking.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Thailand and Singapore went up because other non-ASEAN countries went down. I think that's also why we went down: because non-ASEAN countries went up.
ReplyDeleteDamnit! DOnt be stupid.
ReplyDeleteI dont give a shit about the rankings but Thailand and Singapore were competitive in the previous competitions plus their football is beyond our level even if their players were natives. Thailand is a huundred miles away from spain and we are hundred miles away from these asean countries.
we cant beat them if we dont have pro leagues and native footballers. All we have at the moment are half-philippino players.
Its a good thing we were ranked within the 150's because were still thousand miles away.
hyena - why does it matter that our team consists mostly of half-Filipinos? You make it sound like that's a negative thing. Whether they're 1/4, 1/3, 1/2 Filipino should not be an issue at all. In fact, the foreign heritage matter should never be brought up as long as these athletes meet the citizenship requirement to play for our national team.
ReplyDeleteThe "Fil-Foreigner" term simply labels Filipinos with foreign blood and it seems there's a subtle innuendo that somewhat distances them from the full-blooded Filipinos.
In my humble opinion, we should stop using derogatory-sounding terms such as the "Fil-Foreigner" or "Fil-Am" so we can completely and wholly unite Filipinos even if they have different backgrounds because full-blooded or not, they want to play for the Azkals and represent the Philippines and make us be proud of them.
I didnt say its a bad thing. We should try out some natives filipinos for experience and to boost the ambition of young native filipino players. Theres nothing wrong with it but it would deny these natives the idea that only those half breed has the lot of advantage.
ReplyDeleteLook around you. Look at what these countries have to say, we are winning but these arent filipinos. Look, so many new half players but they didnt do more effort to recruit more natives.
Theres nothing bad with half, but its a good thing to have more natives in this war. And my opinions werent based on just few, Me and my friends were in different parts of the globe and the azkals achievement last time is certainly brought by half philippinos.
Know what are they saying?
Are they Filipinos?
owz" azkal is d best. why 153? cguro sa 145 pwde.
