Army Fritz and Macziol to host a friendly against Korean team, Suwon City
by Charles Palma
The United Football League club Army Fritz & Macziol IBM is scheduled to host a friendly against a South Korean professional club at the University of Makati (UMak) Football Field on December 16. It will be the first time in the history that a K-League club play a friendly against a local club.
The visiting team is Suwon City FC, founded in 2003, and currently playing in the Korean National League (better known as K-League). The South Korean club ended their season as Champions in 2010. The club was also crowned as runner-up in 2005, 2007, and 2008.
On the other hand, our local club Army Fritz & Macziol IBM is a force to be reckoned with. The current squad fought until the dying minutes of the last and most crucial match against the UFL inaugural season eventual winners Air Force Rider FC.
It is not just a normal friendly as both teams are big clubs in their respective countries. Fans will surely see a spectacular match between the best clubs of South East Asia.
It is a breakthrough in the history of Philippine football. Help Us. Tell your friends that the South Korean K-League visits Philippines United Football League.

The game will be held in University of Makati at 4pm on Thursday, December 16, 2010.
Suwon City plays in the semi-professional Korea National League (2nd-tier) not K-League (1st Tier)
ReplyDeleteBut still a big friendly to play at the time our football high.
cheers!
Good that the local teams are playing friendlies with foreign teams. Its only one of the few ways we can continously improve the level of play here locally.
ReplyDeletealso, hopefully, with the strong showing of the Azkals, some of our players get contracts to play abroad. I'm sure after the Suzuki Cup, Aly Bor and a few of our other players will get contract offers to play in at least South East Asia.
Good job!
