Top 'keeper bolts PSG for offer in native Iran

By Karlo Sacamos

PSG’s woes in the United Football League continued as the seventh-running squad has been orphaned by starting goalkeeper Reza Ataei.
Ataei, a dependable ‘keeper who earlier in the season came under criticism for alleged “diving” antics, abruptly left PSG without permission recently after receiving an offer to play for another club in his native Iran.
Without Ataei, Ricardo Padilla Jr. has been the man between the posts in the last two games for PSG, which suffered a fourth straight loss on Thursday night at the hands of Loyola Meralco, 2-4.
The development obviously didn’t sit well with his PSG teammates.
“To leave in the middle of the season, it’s not right. He should’ve waited and left after,” PSG midfielder Charles Ujam said.
PSG coach Esse Sedigh confirmed the news, but refused to comment on the matter.
