PFL - Manila Montet 0-8 Philippine Air Force

"On Saturday evening at 8 PM, Montet FC will face off against the Philippines Air Force at Rizal Stadium in one of the last games of the season. While the stakes are low for both teams, who are already aware they will not finish in the top 10, the match promises to be an exciting encounter.

The top 10 teams at the end of the season are expected to remain in the first division for the upcoming season, which is tentatively scheduled to begin in September. However, nothing is confirmed yet by the PFF. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the future of the league, it is highly likely that neither Montet FC nor the Philippines Air Force will be in the first division next season, though surprises are always possible given the unpredictable nature of football in the Philippines.
For the Philippines Air Force, who have won one match so far this season – against Tuloy – the primary goal will be to secure a second victory. The team will rely on their relatively solid defence and the team’s significant improvement over the course of the season.
After starting the season with three heavy defeats in a row, the Philippines Air Force has gradually improved their game. They lost their last two matches by only a single goal each. Their most recent defeat was in injury time against the Manila Diggers, a strong team in the league.
In attack, the Philippines Air Force will depend on Jan Bernard Delariarte, who has already scored three goals this season, and Angelo Obero, who has netted two. Key playmakers include Jed Delariarte and Angelo Obero, both of whom have provided two assists each.
Next week, the Philippines Air Force is set to face the Army team, which promises to be another interesting matchup. 🤩
As the season winds down, both Montet FC and the Philippines Air Force will look to end on a high note, despite the absence of significant stakes. Fans can expect a competitive match at Rizal Stadium as these teams play for pride and a positive finish to their campaigns."

Updated post :

Statement by Cheng: To my dear friends, Last Thursday, I informed the Philippine Football Federation Director of National Teams that I am stepping away from my role as Team Manager of the women’s teams. For several months, we tried our best to make things work, under new and very different circumstances. Unfortunately, the situation is not workable. Our priorities and goals do not align, and the PWNT organization that we worked hard to develop in the past years is incompatible with current methods. I want to thank all of you for the support and kindness that you have shown me. It’s through you that our efforts have not gone unnoticed & I am grateful to have shared some of the best football experiences with all of you. Until next time…Maraming salamat! Laban, Filipinas!
